WARNING: I AM GOING TO BE A DOWNER
The setting is nice, but the food for our office party was mediocre at best. And one of my office mates refused to go there because she's gotten ill both times after eating their food when she has attended weddings there. So yeah, if food is a high priority for you, find somewhere else.
My friend had a good time there.... but she didn't eat haha she was too busy! I didn't hear any complains though :) Good luck
My sister got married there a few years ago and we had a great time! The mansion is beautiful and it was so convenient for her to get married in the church and walk over to the reception. We had no issues with the food!
I was a guest at Overhills Mansion for a wedding. The food wasn't bad. I don't believe they can accommodate the amount of people 140-160 at the location comfortably. She had the max capacity and there was little room for dancing. Not a bad choice for a small wedding.
I went to a very nice wedding there, but I didn't think the food was all that memorable.
We did go back for a walkthrough when we were venue shopping, and decided it wasn't for us. The woman was very... uh.. strict? She walked us through the process saying "You'll do this" and "this will go here" without finding out what we wanted or asking for our input. She also tried to convince us we could finance a wine/beer bar for 100-120 guests for $300... which was absolutely ridiculous.
But I was also grossed out by their tasting process - basically, she told us they would box up and freeze leftovers of dishes as they're made from other events, and then we could pick them up and try them and choose our dishes that way. My FI thought it was fine.. it wasn't like the food was coming off plates, he said... but I was bothered by it. So we passed.

Hi Hive!
I am calling for any bee that had a good or bad experience at Overhills Mansion in Catonsville Maryland. So far it is our top contender but I want honest opinions from people who are already working with them or did in the past!
we are having around 140-160 and want something close by (thats affordable) and want a rustic setting without having to go far.
Thoughts? I know I can always count on my bees!
