Ultrasound dating isn’t exact – there’s always a margin of error, and it’s often around five days either way. Also, babies don’t always grow at the exact same rate. Some will be a little bigger or smaller than their dates. If you know when you ovulated, I think it’s likely that that’s when you conceived and your baby is just on the big side for now.

Yes, you can ovulate during your period. This typically happens if you generally have short cycles.

You are most likely correct on your ovulation date. I can’t see any time before when it would be possible. Ultrasound dating is wobbly. It often changes your dues date 2-3 times during a pregancy due to the baby’s size. You know when you O’ed (yay charting!) so you know when you’re really due. It’s things like this that make me wary of things like early inductions. Most women don’t know how far they really are. Count yourself lucky and stick with your gut once you get close to being due.

Christy42213:  I agree with PP’s that are skeptical on the ultrasound dating – I told my doctor when I ovulated according to FF, and she confirmed it with the ultrasound. I’m sure if I hadn’t told her my O date, she could have dated me much differently as well. As long as the baby is making progress, I wouldn’t worry about it! 🙂
