FutureMrsGG:  Not all women get EWCM. Either all the time or from month-to-month. Your body is constantly changing. You can get pregnant without having EWCM. And even if you don’t see it on the outside it doesn’t mean that it’s not up there near the cervix. I’ve heard using pre-seed helps a lot of women who do not produce enough EWCM. And drinks lots of water! Make sure you’re hydrated, that helps the production of EWCM. Thins out your mucous. If you notice that you’re not producing any EWCM after charting and checking CM after a while, & are not becoming pregnant, talk to your doctor.

Yeah, like PP said, it varies. I’d be mildly concerned if I had none at all…that sounds annovuatory to me. However, it is not always perfect egg white. As long as it’s either clear, stretches at least an inch, OR feels like wiping an eggwhite (gross sorry), it’s fertile. You don’t need all three; I’m pregnant and have never had all three at the same time. I usually only have one sign.

If you’re stressed at all, that can produce a “fake” ovulation and then you’ll get the real one in a few days to a Week or two.

FutureMrsGG:  Oh no, body changes day in and day out. That’s why if you read around, you’ll see some women get pregnant with EWCM one time and their next pregnancy, the EWCM wasn’t there and/or pronounced when they were ovulating. You’re charting, using OPKs and are fairly regular with your cycles, then I would BD during those peak days & use pre-seed to help. I mean, I’ve heard really good things about women who use pre-seed to conceive (and who are dry). And again, drink drink drink water. It’s good for you anyways, but helps with the production and thinning of EWCM.

FutureMrsGG:  Oh yes, CoffeebeanKate made a good statement, there is other fertile CM other than EWCM. As long as you’re getting some sort of fertile, you’re in good shape.

Again, if you feel unsure, talk to your doctor. But you sound in good shape 🙂

I don’t know how it will affect getting pregnant, but I have barely any EWCM too. I had a ton my first month off the pill but not much since then. I’m checking internally but maybe not going far enough..?? I don’t know. I’m planning to get pre seed.

I stressed a lot about not seeing ANY CM, and I was even checking internally. I thought for sure there was a problem, even though I was getting a temp shift and positive OPKs. Guess what? I got pregnant on the second try! 🙂 I wouldn’t worry unless you aren’t getting temp shifts or if you haven’t had luck in 6-8 cycles(depending on your age). Good luck!

I never had a lot of EWCM. I used to check internally and would have very little, but I still was ovulating. With my first pregnancy I got pregnant on the second cycle and with my second pregnancy, on the fourth cycle. I think it’s more about knowing your body and what’s normal for you. I temped for a few months before my first pregnancy, but never had a shift, so I packed it in and just charted my CM. Although I didn’t have much in the way if EWCM, my CM did change in a predictable manner and was easily able to tell when I was ovulating.
