@bunny:How many days is your cycle usually? I have a long cycle, and got a "fake" fade in a week before my real fade in to O where the two lines were equally dark (not the test line fainter than the control line).
ETA high cervix is good, but firm and closed, i think are best for determining O. Also why did you switch brands?
The first two look like positives to me - do you think the second/Sunday one might be because it's a different brand strip? (I know it shouldn't make a difference, just wondering if you've used two before and noticed any changes?)
I'd maybe assume that was IT, and get your blood work scheduled in - but then... keep OPK-ing just in case you have another surge?
Maybe? :)
I don't cycle really at all without clomid. The past two cycles I've had 12 and 14 day LPs, respectively. So let's see ... 16+12 =28 days and 14+20= 34 days? There you go. 28 and 34 day cycles on my last two. I was assuming that the increased clomid dose would help shorten the first half of my cycle since the doctors want you to ovulate on CD 14, ideally. CD 12 seems a little early, especially for me, but I suppose it's possible?
I switched brands because I went out of town for the day and had to pick up some at the drug store because I forgot to bring any along.
Good advice, Jaguar. Think I'll call and ask the nurse tomorrow what she thinks. Also I guess I could see if they'll do an ultrasound on me to check out the situation. We haven't been doing those due to finances, but I think it would be worth it to find out what's up and make sure we have good timing this month!
@bunny: Definitely worth it! I don't stop OPK-ing when I get a tiny faint line - and good thing I didn't this month, because I got a darker line later in the month (CD34!) - I hope a blood test/US will tell you if you have/haven't ovulated properly.
@jaguar: Thank you for the advice! I'll let you know what the nurse says tomorrow morning. :)
I think the top OPK is a positive surge - I never got an equally dark second line when using the internet strips. (But, am pregnant now so obviously ovulated!) If I thought it was positive I would confirm with a digital test. That can turn out to be pricey, but I just couldn't stand trying to interpret the cheapie tests.
GOOD LUCK!!!
@bunny: Sorry, hon, but neither of those tests look positive to me. Have you had a temp spike??? If not, I would keep testing.
So I tested again this morning with the sticks I bought Saturday and I had another almost positive OPK, but then this afternoon I used one of each type at 2 p.m. and the thin one was SO much brighter than the thick one, which had practically no line at all! I totally don't trust that brand now. :P
The nurse at my doctor's office said I should wait a few more days to see what happens. I think we'll probably do my progesterone test on Day 21 if I don't get a positive OPK. Thanks for your help!
Oh, and they wouldn't do an ultrasound to see where I was in my cycle. That's another thing I'd have to see a specialist for, apparently. Hate it, hate it, hate it!

OK! So I'm on CD 13 and I think I may have already ovulated? I had a "fade in" pattern on my OPKs on CDs 10 and 11 and my darkest OPK this cycle at 2 p.m. Saturday, but I wouldn't say it was quite positive. You can see yesterday's and today's in the photo. I know some of the girls on here don't get obviously positive OPKs, but I usually do. Based on the fade in, I figured I was going to have an obviously positive OPK today, but no dice. I'm wondering if yesterday's almost positive was, in fact, a positive? Todays CM is wet, but not egg white and I have a high, open cervix. If I already Oed, it would be my earliest O ever. This is my third cycle on clomid, my first on 100mgs. Cycle 1 (50mgs) I Oed on CD 16. Cycle 2 (50mgs) I Oed on CD 20, which is why my doctor decided to increase the dose.
So ladies, did I already O? Or was it just a "practice surge"? Maybe I'll get the real one in the next few days? ARG. I hate the uncertainty!
Oh, and I need to know because I have to schedule my 7DPO blood draw to check my progesterone levels.
