Hey Tinkerbelle!

I previously was doing p90x a month or so ago until I got sick for 2 weeks and lost all motivation. In the time I was doing it I didn’t really lose weight but boy was I stronger and I felt great! My FI also does p90x and he also fell off the wagon but unlike me, he looks great.

This is great that you started this post because I am looking to start again next week but from day 1. I know I need all the motivation and support I can get. Unfortunately, the wedding just isn’t enough motivation to get my a$$ in gear. So I will keep you posted on my progress.

Good luck!

I’m not doing P90X, but I have the same problem with protein intake. The best thing I can recommend is lots of ground turkey (the husband and I had turkey burgers twice in a row last week)! They are yummy and much healthier than ground beef, with lots of protein!

I am doing the program, but i’m not following the diet part they laid out. I am just cutting back portions, and trying to not eat garbage. It will be a month on Friday, and I haven’t loss any pounds, but I can tell my body has changed a lot. I am wearing a smaller pants size as well. It’s such a good feeling, and I’m not getting married till October, so I hope I can keep it up.

Roddy, you can do it, don’t think about doing it for the wedding, think about it as a lifestyle change, so you can take care of your new family! Don’t lose motivation, take it one day at a time, and make sure to give yourself a pat on the back for the progress you do make, reward yourself for little baby steps, (not with food though, like i tend to wanna do haha)!

It’s exciting other people are doing the same thing! Have any of you tried the Power 30 series, they target specific areas? I just bought the dvd’s i’m gonna try them after I hit my month goal!

So here’s a question– how "in shape" was everyone when they started?  I’m 5’4" and 145lbs, trying to get down around 125-130 and toned.  My fiance has P90X and had a really tough time with all the cardio (even though he passed the fitness test up front).  Also- I don’t have the greatest knees and I know a lot of the cardio workouts are plyometrics focused.  Thoughts?

I’m 5’3" and weigh 123 pounds. I’m on my 9th week of P90X. I’ve noticed that I’m stronger and a bit more toned.  I wanted to lose a few pounds before my wedding, but instead I’m noticing that I’m toner, which I’m pleased with. My clothes fit me better too. It’s a great workout. I too have knee problems, but I haven’t had any complaints with my knees since I started the program.

Sun, do you have access to an elliptical machine, a bike, or a pool?

I haven’t ever seen this program, but my protein recommendations would be fish (le duh!), yogurt, beans, and a tablespoon of peanut butter to get past an afternoon slump. I did a diet/exercise plan last year that had me eating my carbs only for breakfast and lunch and then protein in the evening. It really kept up my energy.

sunflwra, just do everything easy at first and see what your knees can handle, the program is all about working out safely. Your knees will build up strengh just like every other part of your body. I think you should try it for a little while and see what happens, don’t force any move that you think will really hurt and strain your knees. Eventually they will be able to build up and take more.

As for in shape, I always worked out on and off, but I really wanna commit this time, and i’ve been feeling pretty good. I’m at 151, and i’m 5′ 6"… I feel like i’m toning a lot more this time for some reason, and as my friend said, don’t be tempted by garbage food, it is trying to rob you the joy of your wedding day! She’s so encouraging.. Anyway bees, I know you can do it!!! Stick with it!!! Stay Focused!!!

my fiance and i are doing it and i feel alot stronger. I fell off the wagon so i need to start again but when i started i was 117 pounds and i quit doing it and now i am 112. Its just hard for me to stay focused because the time i get home from work and clean and do landry and stuff for the wedding its like an hour before i go to bed. I need some more motivation! Im cutting back on what i eat and no chocolate. I need to start again to tone my arms more because the big day is in 3 months. Goodluck everyone! it is a great program.

Ok no one has posted in a while, where is everyone at?

Also I found another tool to help me.. dailyplate.com allows you to post everything you’ve eaten, and it keeps a calorie count for you. You enter in some variables like age, weight, height, and how much you wanna lose a week and it gives you a calorie allotment for the day. It also lets you write in a journal to see how your feeling, and it plots your progress on a graph. It has been so helpful for me, so I just thought i’d pass it on.

p90x is a workout system it’s a dvd workout program and a menu plan by beach body and Tony Horton, and if you can stick with it, it totally rocks!

Wow tinkerbelle, we are or were like the same size, i’m 5’7 though. I wanna get down to 135 too. I’m at 148.2 which for me is huge because I usually hang around 149 at the lightest, so i’m happy to finally break that level.
