ooh, good luck!
i tried doing a modified version of p90x but after a while i got tired of working out in my room and wanted to be outside so i picked up jogging. i did enjoy the workouts though. while they were long, i didn't master them in the 2 months i was doing it so it was always challenging. i don't last very long with workout vids because i master the moves quickly and don't really feel like i'm working anything so the fact that i lasted 2 months on this one was a plus in my book.
the ab ripper x was probably my favorite one along with kenpo. plyo was interesting and definitely a challenge and i hated yoga x. i took yoga for a couple of years and figured i wouldn't have a problem but i had trouble keeping up. plus he spent like, the first 30 or so minutes doing vinyasas [and moves through them fairly quickly] and i never really enjoyed doing vinyasa poses. anywho, i'm always interested in how this works for other people. i have a friend who did this with fantastic results. he looks better now than he did when i met him 2 years ago!
That's great that you and FI are doing the P90x together! I have done the first two phases and have seen really nice results. Just yesterday my FI noted how toned I had become. As for tips - 1. "Do your best and forget the rest" as you will hear Tony say. This is a really tough workout so don't stress if you can't get through everything as well as the folks in the DVD do. 2. If you have to miss days, make it the cardio days. You will get the noticible toning from the strength days and these workouts are all designed to burn mad calories. 3. Make sure you don't forget to watch what you eat. This is my biggest struggle. I think that because I exercise I can eat what I want and then wonder why I don't loose weight :) Good luck and congratulations!!
I started P90X and went through the entire process once already....that was also while skipping some weeks because of holidays and other events. You need to be really disciplined or it doesn't work...so eating right on top of working out. I have lost over 40 pounds already, it really is amazing!
Thanks for the feedback! Today is Day 4-- Yoga but I think we're gonna do CardioX... I hate yoga and I read a lot of people don't like it either. Our coach is a friend who had AMAZING results and she said she switches out yoga with cardio or synergenics.
So far we're loving it and feeling strong. Definitely great to have each other! I LOVED plyometrics! I'm a dancer and was a soccer player so I love the agility workouts and exercises. Really great so far! I'll definitely keep you all updated!
And eating is totally important and definitely something I struggle with too. So far so good, been writing down what I eat... right now I am following the Alli eating plan and taking Alli. Next week I will focus more on the P90X plan which is more high protein.
WISH US LUCK!!! And thanks again!
Congrats upstatebroad!!!! Did you lose the 40 lbs in the first cycle-- in 3 months? How much did you have to lose total if you don't mind me asking??? That's AWESOME! What inspiration and motivation

So MONDAY will be 90 DAYS until the main event, the wedding day. This is a huge motivator for me and not to mention FI will be doing it too. We really, really hope we can dig deep and stick with. Any other bees out there do P90X? Care to share your results and tips? Wish us luck! I'll keep you all posted through the process...
