Usually you can get your license from the courthouse but you may want to check with either the count you are getting married in or reside in especially since some counties have different rules. As for how early, PA has the 60 day rule. You can apply within 60 days of your wedding but you will have to wait 3 days before it goes into effect.
As far as I understand it, PA is special in that you can get your license in ANY county in the state, not just the one you're getting married in. In Centre Co, we had to go to the register of wills/orphans court (weird, I know)--just check the local gov't page of whatever county you want to get the license in, and it should tell you where to go, and what hours they are open.
@Hestiah - I too had to go to the wills/orphans court for our license in Chester County. I forgot to mention that you can get married in any county as I lived in Chester County and got married in Northampton County.

Can anyone from PA tell me excatly how/where/when to get the marriage license?
Do I go to the courthouse of the country in which I am being married? Do I make an appointment of some sort? How early should I get the license? It's good for about 3 months or something, right?
Thanks beeeeez
