I’m on the hunt for a venue! The “style” I’m looking for seems to be few and far between in our hometown, and we need to stay as close to there as possible because FI’s father cannot stay overnight anywhere for health reasons. Having a bit of a hard time!!

Basically.. I have nothing done! Haha I have a few ideas for photographers, I have my colours picked out, and I have some dress ideas as well but I really feel like I don’t want to plan anything until I get my venue locked down!

Around Orangeville, ON.

A couple I’m looking at:

http://www.gibsoncentre.com/

https://www.facebook.com/CambiumFarms?ref=stream (fairly new as an event venue, website not up and running yet)

There is also a conservation area near here with a “chalet” (use that term VERY loosely) and beautiful campsites that is an option. I want a very casual, fun wedding.. there is nothing formal about us as a couple! I just want people to have a good time πŸ™‚

@JackiBean:  Ahhhh! Your venue is STUNNING! Unfortunately I have absolutely nothing like that around me… I wish!! I can understand you being a bit bummed out though… It would be hard to stop looking, even after you have something booked! But seriously, that place is gorgeous, so no regrets!!

The Gibson Center is really, really beautiful, but it is also expensive! And not entirely convenient for us or our guests. My FI’s father is a quadriplegic, so close to home is very important in our case because travel is not easy for their family, and he cannot stay anywhere overnight. Otherwise, we absolutely would have done a destination wedding!

I can’t WAIT to go dress shopping! I’d love to see your dress πŸ˜€

My date is 8-30-14 and I have the deposit down on the church, a venue I’m pretty sure about (Can’t make deposit until a year out) and I have my dress! We are looking at photography right now and just discussing things we might be interested in having at our wedding. Its such a fun process!

@JackiBean:  Yeah, its kind of annoying, but I also think it helps pace out the spending for wedding costs too πŸ™‚ and NO DRESS REGRET AT ALL. I’m obsessed with it haha.

Its also nice because I know how much weight I need to cut too πŸ™‚ haha

@JackiBean:  yeah, I decided to do Black and white! And definately, I’m a planner and in grad school so the time is appreciated, even though if I had all the money in the world I probably wouldnt wait.. but money decides a lot of it πŸ™‚
