    Hey girls-

I am packing for our honeymoon and I had to take a break and zip off a post. I am totally overwhelmed (and now my room looks like a bomb went off in it) we're going to the mountains and it's chilly there, but can be hot in the daytime. Sounds like a no-brainer right?! Yeah-NOT. I thought, well, I'll take my favorite pairs of jeans, a couple of pairs of shorts and a mix of short sleeve and long sleeve shirts, one dressy outfit for going out and sneakers for all of the walking we'll be doing...and now-whew...I don't have any clue how to sort it out. I think I'm just overwhelmed by all that has to be done this week.

Why on earth did I think it was okay for my mom to hostess a brunch at my house the day after the wedding? FI and I will not be here-we'll be long gone to Tennessee, but FIs parents & family are coming, as well as some other close friends of my parents who live out of state...now the pressure is on to get things cleaned up and tidied up on top of everything else. UGH. Why did I think that was a good idea?

Sorry you are feeling overwhelmed. I always feel that way packing for a big trip ( I always end up talking to myself out loud!), so packing for a honeymoon will be crazy. I'm sure you'll get everything together. Just keep thinking about how great it will be to be headed off for that trip with your new hubby:-) Good luck!!

Okay, here's what you do. Unpack everything from your suitcase. Make a list of every possible situation (fancy dinner, hiking, sightseeing) and then pack ONE outfit for each thing. Add underwears and pjs and be done with it! Packing is so much easier with a list instead of trying to do it in your head! I promise.

    Breathe! :)

I'm so excited for you!!! And KMSull is right - list making just happens to be my very favorite thing to do! And don't worry about that brunch - like you said, you won't be there! You'll be blissfully on your way to spend some time with your honey. Don't even worry about it!

O my gosh, i'm packing on wednesday. I feel your pain, it's like if you have to remember one more freaking thing your head's gonna explode. That's how I feel anyway.

I third KMSull - make a list!  I always used to pack like 12 pairs of shoes and 37 tank tops to go away for four days.  Just make a list of what you would need for everything and be realistic (like you're not going to need more than two outfits for a day)

Lists are the way to go.  They will keep you on track.

My personal issue with over packing is the shoes.  I now manage to limit myself to three pairs of shoes (including the ones I wear on the plane).  That way I have a tennis shoe option, a cute, but casual option and a dressy option.

Ugh - the big cleanup after the wedding sucks! What we did was we hired Merry Maids to come in and clean the entire house for us while we were getting married. It cost like $280 but I promise it was the best $280 I have ever spent! I was going crazy and crying about how dirty and messy the house was because we also had brunch guests coming over. The Merry Maids came in and like magic it was perfect!
