I went to a wedding that had several stations, one of them being a stir fried lo-mein station: you pick the ingredients and the sauce, the chef cooks it up and serves it in a take-out container with chopsticks. The guests all thought it was the coolest thing.
Now I really want some pad thai
Sounds like a great idea!!!!
Sounds delicious, but remember that a lot of the ingredients for pad thai can be rather... odiferous... before they're cooked into the final dish. Fish sauce is NOT a smell one generally associates with weddings. ;)
This sounds like an incredible idea! When I lived in Thailand for a few months I went to a few parties that had pad thai and som tom (green papaya salad) stations--always a great hit! The take out boxes and chopsticks sound like a great idea. It would also be nice to have the traditional Thai condiments out so that guests can doctor up their own: Chinese chives, vinegar with chilies, fish sauce with chilies, powdered chilis, etc.

I was thinking about having a pad thai station during the cocktail hour. Any thoughts or suggestions? I really like the idea of little take out boxes with chop sticks...
Thanks for your help!
