It sounds like round ligament pains and is completely normal. It’s just the muscles around your uterus stretching.

If it feels more like it’s in the pelvic bone/ligaments then it could just be your ligaments starting to loosen and that’s very normal too.

@awakemysoul:  I think around that time I had some similar pain when blowing my nose, etc. I think you are fine – if it becomes really severe, definitely call the dr though

Sounds pretty normal to me. I still get those pains if I get up too quickly or cough/sneeze hard and I’m 26 weeks. I wouldn’t worry about it too much.

@awakemysoul:  I’ve had ths a few times through my pregnancy and I’m 33 weeks and perfectly fine, it’s just ligaments and stuff pinching because of the force of your cough. I just stop what I’m doing and stand or sit and let it pass and relax itself.

Nothing to worry about 🙂

Sounds like an ovarian cyst to me. COMPLETELY NORMAL in early pregnancy. You normally get them on the ovary that released the egg that month. They usually go away on their own, but you may feel a bit of pain on one side for a few weeks.

I had two on my right overy at my first dating ultrasound. They went away by my 12 week scan.

Nothing to worry about!

@awakemysoul:  I am 5 weeks and 1 day today, and I ttoally know what you are talking about. When I cough, I get a sharp pain in my pelvic region as well. I am not too concerned though becuase it doesn’t prohibit me from doing anything (and I have no cramping or bleeding with it). I tend to lean forward when I cought to take the pressure off that area. It works for me, and I don’t know what will work for you, but I think it is completely normal. I would talk to your doctor about it tomorrow.

You and I are due date twins and I have random pains in my lower abdomen. It happens sometimes when I stretch too far or when I like get up from the bed, or twist. Sometimes I get a short sharp pain near my hip bones.. I’m just thinking it’s my ligaments stretching or something to the tune of that.. I am not bleeding or spotting and have had an ultrasound to confirm it isn’t ectopic. Good luck and I hope your US goes well! Try not to worry too much.

@awakemysoul:  I got that around then too. It definitely just sounds like ligament pain. It’s still around at 17w. Isn’t it amazing to know that your body is already stretching out to accomodate a baby so early in pregnancy?

I had the same kind of thing, and my doctor said it was nothing to worry about.  31w1d and I’m still pregnant and doing fine 🙂

I’ve started getting them too. When I sneezed the other day I had this sharp pain down there and I was sure I pulled a muscle.

ETA A week or so ago I was also getting pain from the ovarian cyst that little bean came from. Dr. checked and said it was totally normal. So depending where your pain is it could be from several things. 🙂
