I think acrylic would chip off or wash off. You need a special glass paint that acts more like enamel.

Also, on a personal note, how attatched are you to your names on the wine glasses? From all the threads I’ve read accross varying wedding sites, most guests are not in love with monogrammed items. Personally I would never use wine glasses with another couples name/wedding date. (Unless they were the only ones I owned). No offense intended of course! I’ve just read about so many brides heart broken over people not taking the favors home.
