I am getting married in one of the gardens at the college where I teach. After that we are having a pig roast.
@KT808: That sounds like fun! I've never been to a wedding with a pig roast but think that's a awesome idea!
Hmmm vintage/romantic wedding at an old mill that has been converted into an art gallery. Outside wedding (I HOPE) with no more than 60 guest, but I'm shooting for 50. Lots of candles, uplighting, nice dinner, dancing, and that's it! Neither of us care a ton about the cake, we are not having any kids and it will be very much "us" and not "Tradition". So much so that I am going to kill my mom by telling her we are providing flipflops for the ladies.
I guess our special touch right now is our honeymoon--- FI and I finally decided today that we would do everything we wanted to do over the time we dated-- hit New York, Orlando, go to Alabama and Virgina and Washington too! So yep, roadtrip is our touch and I CAN'T WAIT!!!!
@takemyhand: That sounds really relaxing and intimate! I love small weddings! And your mom will suffer through haha.
I never thought of a road trip! That's awesome! I can't wait to see pictures!
My fingers are crossed you have it outside!
@JRL2012: Thanks! We talked about going to a resort, but I can't sit at a resort for a week unless there is something to do. So then we talked cruise, but value for money was questionable. We have always talked about going on a roadtrip and we can do it budget so that we have more money to put towards a house, so I am excited! Any suggestions of what to do or where to stop in on the East Coast?
@takemyhand: It depends what you like. Gettysburg is always great if you like Historical like battle ground and such... the also have ghosts tours sometimes which are super fun.
I personally love florida because it's warm and right now it's FREEZING here haha. I hate cold.
NYC of course but def do more than the main strip! They have awesome art galleries and such... food= amazing as well.
I've been to Boston and that was cool too! Again try to go more places than just the main... explore a little because Boston has tons of neat things to see.
What are you into? I dabble in a little of everything haha. Charleston SC is amazing as well... I could go all day. There are great spots for hiking as well. I'm very food driven and most big cities have great food lol
@JRL2012: Hmm lots of ideas. Maybe this involves a trip to the library! I AM OFF! (I love an excuse to go to the library... what a nerd :D)
@JRL2012: Sorry for hijacking your thread... totally should NOT respond further, but I HATE EREADERS! I love the feeling of a REAL book in my hand and the pages. You can turn them, fan them. There is a weight and a smell to a book that an ereader just can't fix.
Also, when the book sucks and I feel obligated to finish it, there is a visual idea of how many more crappy pages are left to read :D
@takemyhand: I agree completely! And I don't care if you hijack lol I also like my book shelf and it would look pretty funny with just a ereader on it lol
@JRL2012: I'm picturing my dream office with walls of floor to ceiling built ins and all that's on it is an e-reader and a modem! hehe! God I hope they never make me do that :S
I don't know if you're still looking for info... but I came across this board and thought it would be fun to post on :) We're getting married at the Intercontinental Harbor Court in the Inner Harbor, and I can't wait! Our photographer is out of DE, but does weddings in PA and MD. He is fairly new, but recently won theknot best of 2012, so we're super stoked about that. Hmm, what else? I'll be making the flowers out of fabric and pearls. After readings so many posts/tutorials, I'm thinking about making the bridal party's jewelry also. A friend of mine is a former makeup artist for MAC, so is offering to do everyone's makeup for free. I kind of wish it would be December already! Photo of flowers is posted below!

I'm tired of talking about my own wedding at the moment and would like to know what other brides in the area are doing for their special day! Dress? Venue? Any special touchs that just mean the most to you? Share pictures too! Time to brag a little about your special day :)
