Back in November I found bridesmaid dresses on jcrew.com. I have one bridesmaid who is fairly busty but she had started dieting for her own wedding and the dress I chose was close to fitting.
The wedding is in July. We just took it to the alteration lady, who said there really wasn’t much she could do. It is strapless and there just isn’t enough room in the chest.
So anyways, I’m back at square one. I chose the dresses in J Crew’s bright rhubarb – it was a really bright dark colored pink. I liked the dresses but weren’t in love in love with them. They were on sale and summery so I was growing to like them. I had the idea to use bright flowers and use fruits – like oranges, limes, lemons.
Now, I’m back at the beginning finding new dresses for everyone and potentially a new color.
Any ideas of dresses that are good for the more busty? Should I stick with my bright color? I’m panic-ing a little.

http://www.dessy.com I had to find a dress for a busty friend of mine. There was a halter dress in there that the dress people recommended for my ‘top-heavy’ friend. But the dresses are a little pricey.

i JUST got bridesmaid dresses last week for my wedding in june..THIS june. the problem was that all of my maids couldn’t get with the program to try them on and order them (from lula kate). so at the last minute in total frustration i turned to j crew. they all ordered the delores dress in light flamingo. the dresses got to them all in 3 days, and all fit them perfectly. i bring this up b/c my sister wears a double d bra and the delores works for her…maybe your busty maids can try that style? the good news on my end is that i ended up liking the new dresses and color better than my original choice. sometimes you just have to go with the flow.

I think with any company there’s something for everyone, but for more busty girls, honestly it’s usually more helpful if they can have some sort of straps, especially the kind where they can wear a real bra to hold themselves up…that’s been my experience with bustier girls anyway.

Don’t give up on the JCrew dresses yet! I have 2 possible fixes!
A friend of mine was in a wedding this summer- I think the dress color was the same as yours. She was plus size and the JCrew wouldn’t fit. She took a swatch to a big local bridal place and they were able to find a dress from another designer that was the EXACT same color as the JCrew dresses. My advice would be to try and do the same- getting a similar style dress for the BM to wear.
Another- possibly easier alternative- take the dress to a few fabric stores- see if you can find a similar fabric in a similar color. Buy some of it, give it to the seamstress and have her put panels under the armpits to let out the bust. I’ve heard of this being used multiple times before. Because the extra fabric goes under the arm, it’s not noticeable if the color/fabric isn’t a perfect match.
