Okay, my wedding is around the corner and I have no hairstyle yet! My FSIL was going to do my hair. We initially were planning for a curlly pulled back do. But... for my hair we'd have to use curlers to hold the style better, and I need to be ready for photos with my fiance by 9:45 AM!!!

Now I don't know what to do.

This was my first trial - I'd skip the veil with this do.

Then I went to my second fitting and tried a veil with my hair down. This was the result. My family is split 50/50 on which they like better. So is my fiance, but he's slightly more into my hair down and straight.

I don't know which style is more "me". I'm typically low maintenance, with my hair down. But I've been pretty anti-veil, even though I like them.

Plus, I don't know how to do my hair down without it going flat and looking more polished than the pic above. Please help!

I really like the hair down.  I really believe that you should look like yourself on your wedding day.  I would have a veil for the ceremony and nothing for the reception.  That is what I did.  Maybe you could have a fancy clip or band to make your hair look more polished on the wedding day?

any suggestions on what to use to pull my hair back with? I have no idea what to use that will flow with the veil on, but still have enough draw to it when I take the veil off.

for those of you who have or are doing a half up hairstyle, what did you pull your hair back with?

i really love the look of your hair straight and down. especially with the simple beauty of your gown (stunning on you by the way i love your dress!) i think you should also keep your hair simple so that you as a whole in your outfit will be the focus and the hair style will not be over powering.

i always encourage people to not try a very different style on your wedding day. otherwise you will not look like yourself.

my suggestion would be along the lines of what you have with the straight hair. have them round brush it. even set it in huge rollers to give you lots of volume. dont pull half of your half of your hair back. i would suggest doing a pompadore/poof with just your fringe area... like what most girls have been doing these days with their bangs. and then tuck your veil in behind your bangs.

if you go with just pulling your bangs back, just use bobby pins, the hairstylist should be able to use a colour that isnt noticeable, or tuck them under some how for you.

or go with a cute little hair barette if you go with the full half up style. there are some supper cute ones out there that are not very expensive.

I like the veil and hair down.  And I agree with anvil chick.  Some giant round hair rollers and hairspray will give you some volume oomph and it will look smashing!

I like the hair straight and down, but I like how the side part and side swept bang on the first one.

I like the hair down and agree with others that you just need a bit of volume at the top and it will look spectacular!  You can pull it back with anything you want, even cris-crossing blond colored bobby pins would work (I do this all the time).

There are tons of beaded hair clips on etsy and other sites (even at Davids Bridal).  I am putting one in my hair after my veil comes off to hide the clips that hold my hair back.

I voted for up since your hair is normally straight and down. I know people always say you want to look like yourself but I feel like I want to look like I put effort into my hair so I would pick to do the ony you don't normally do. I also really like how your hair looks back and think the veil would go nicely with that do as well. As far as what to use, I have completely different hair (dark and curly but fine) so I use bobby pins which blend in nicely but would stand out on yours like crazy. They do make gold bobby pins which you can get at CVS or the like. Also, I was at American Eagle a couple of weeks ago and they had some really cute fancy embellished bobby pins that were gold. For volume, if all else fails, flip your head over and hair spray the roots.

I like the "straight and down" look the best. I like the way you can really see your face with your hair pulled back like that.
