So, I’m getting married August 30, in the south of France, my hometown. It’s not quite a destination wedding because that’s where I’m from, my entire family and childhood friends are there, and well… I’m not asking anyone to go anywhere far, since they’ll be right on the spot – for my side, that is.
Here’s the thing, NO ONE from my fiance’s side is going, not one single person, not even the in laws. They’ve known for over a year, they can afford it… they just don’t like me, so, that’s that and it’s very sad, but, I’ve decided to not dwell on that and he seems fine with it – actually prefers it that way – so – here’s the thing, we are now only going to be 40 people.
The thing is, I planned this wedding as if it was going to be average size, not really a cute small wedding, and it’s too late to change the venues now. The ceremony will be in CATHEDRAL – so I’m horrified about that now because ok – it’s a small one, but it’s still a cathedral… 40 ppl in there? How sad is that going to be?? And the reception is going to be pretty normal in a hotel with a DJ and all… is it going to be DEAD?
I am so worried no one is going to have fun, dance… is a DJ too much for 40 people?
Has anyone ever had so few guests and a traditional style reception not with an ipod in a cute little place but full on DJ and all and how was it??
Thanks for sharing your experiences and tips…
