I love it, I think as long as it's not everywhere, like all over the venue. I really do love it! If we had more of an outdoor wedding I would've liked to have gone this route, it's festive, pretty, and cultural.
Aw, that's the cutest thing ever! Love it! I don't think it'd be kitschy I think it'd be ace! PS those invitations are perfection!
Aww thanks ladies! And now I realize this should have gone in the "paper" board. D'oh!
I think it is acutally best if done outdoors creating an "outdoor room" effect. But I think it could be also really cool over a dance floor! I love the effect of papel picado and I don't think you can go overboard with it!
I loooooove papel picado. I think it looks great, and the colors are really vibrant and pretty!
Is that what it's called? I love it! And it doesn't sound like you're overdoing it at all, especially since you're keeping it monochrome.
I love it! I'm planning on incorporating some banners into my ceremony as well. I think you made an awesome choice!
Yup, I love them too! I was just looking at aymujer for some reception decor...post pics if you do it!
I think that's really pretty and will put a nice personal stamp onto your venue, go for it!
Love it, it think it will be nice touch. I think as long as you dont hang them all over the place it should look very nice.
It's so cute...it's Papel Picado done in a classy way..At least you didn't use the typical colors...I say go for it!!
Oh, did you make these or find them? They are so much what I am looking for!!
Thank you for your help!
Hi socodivka, I found these pictures on etsy, though I can't remember exactly which one. One of the sellers that does papel picado designs, though, is BGDesignStudio. As for me, I am working with Alex Tebow (http://www.alextebowblog.com/) to custom design the invitation suite, which is almot done and I'll be sure to post what she came up with!

I'm incorporating a papel picado motif into some of my paper goods - STDs, invitations, table/place cards - similar to this invitation design, but my banners will smaller & in white against a pewter gray background. Hope it's uploaded right!
With this motif I'm considering having a few (2-3) actual papel picado banners but would it look too kitschy?
The real custom banners like this and this from this etsy seller would be displayed on the guestbook and place card tables. At the church, I would use one banner square per pew as pew decor.
The "real-life" banners would all be in yellow.
Am I killing it with the real banners? I've never really seen this done except as large multicolored banners at casual outdoor weddings. I just want to achieve a cultural nod without being all up in your face
