I’m finishing up all the DIYs with just under 5 weeks to go. I had the supplies for a long time, but finally just put everything together. I didn’t want these hanging around my house for months.
I love paper lanterns, but just wanted to use them in a different way. So I made these signs for the ice cream bar, dessert bar, candy/popcorn bar (yes I have a sweet tooth). They are hung on 84″ double shepherd hooks and will be right behind the rectangle tables displaying the sweets. I used my Silhouette Cameo for the lettering. Inside is a small string of battery operated LEDs. The sweets tables will be in the dance area that will be dimly lit due to the starfield projector), so I think these will show up nicely and give some extra light for the food.
I also made these to go in each corner to demarcate the dance area. I think I will use a few more large rounds to scatter about in front of the DJ area too, but I don’t want to go overboard, as I usually do. These are 6′ tall and again lit by battery operated LED string lights. I just used a wood 1″x2″ in a pot (plaster of paris to hold it) and hooks to hold the two lanterns. I really like these, I hope you do too. Any suggestions for improvement are welcome, of course. (Note: I haven’t put in any top filler in the pots yet to hide the plaster, will do that on location during set up).
