Have you considered ordering them online? The paper lantern store is really affordable.
Definitely go to Chinatown - it's around St. Laurent and de la Gauchetiere streets.

I am coming into Montreal only for a few days on my way to Nova Scotia for my wedding in July and was wondering if anyone knows of a good place where I can get affordable but tasteful black and white (separate) paper lanterns. I don't plan on lighting them so no need of battery powered or LED lanterns.
