I can't remember why exactly, but I wrote down the name of Golden Dragon in Chinatown Plaza when I was there doing some pre-recon for lanterns and parasols. If you just go near the plaza, park and walk, you'll find a zillion kitschy chinese shops with great prices on these types of things...

Wing Wa Hing Gifts and Arts 811 N. Broadway, LA, CA 90012 213-437-0710 - have lanterns there but I don't remember the price. Got white paper parasols there for $6/each. They also have some nice patterned ones too.

Hello everyone! Does anyone know where I can find a good deal on paper parasols and lanterns in LA? We're heading down there this weekend to raid Ikea for centerpieces and would love to knock these items off my list. I know that the fashion district is the place to go for fabric, dresses, etc but is there a similar place for these types of items? Thanks!
