- Wedding: June 2013
Well, I’ve taken a short hiatus from wedding planning (family drama plus the fact that we’re already married has me taking a time out for now…), and I’ve redirected my creativity to another project. Opening a long-awaited Etsy paper shop.
I am beyond excited. I’ve been “making stuff” forever, and have gone through many revisions of “products” from beaded necklaces as a young girl to pretty, girly stationery as an old lady (I turned 30 three weeks ago!!) 🙂
Anyway, I have been *struggling* to come up with a name for the shop, and I can’t go forward with much, including oh-so-important “branding” (logo, business cards, invoice design, packagine, etc.) until I come up with a name. For my logo I’m thinking a bold diagonal stripe design in light light grey and white, with the name written over it in a loopy thin script. Something like this but a little thicker and lighter.
I’m going for cute, sweet, and lovely. The colors I’ll be working with will mostly be pastels, with designs ranging from chevron to sand dollars. (I love interior design — especially the light “beach cottage” esque stuff we’re seeing now, and natural elements.) My products will be things like note cards, journals, pretty pencils, paper flower kits, silhouettes, gift wrap sets, etc.
Additionally, I have visions of this venture turning into a (small-income-producing) blog (ie. paper products, interior design ideas, refinishing furniture — which I do a lot of, and crafting/homemaking in general — disclaimer: I’m not a homemaker but do love decorating and cooking.)
I’ve been through a thousand different name ideas, but I want something that sounds cute, sweet, and lovely, while still being somewhat sophisticated and not-too-trendy. I’ve listed some name ideas in the poll, but if you have any input, advice, fantastic names, please share.
I like option # 1 because of the apostrophe. 🙂
I really like option # 3, but I’m worried about it being too trendy (chevron is hot now, but it might not always be, and people might not know what chevron is and associate it with a gas station).
I’m currently *loving* and *dreaming* about the coast. 🙂
