I know some of you believe in the paranormal, and some have had some very interesting experiences with the paranormal. So I need some help – My grandad died on October 8th. I would love to see him in a dream (one close family friend already has), feel his presence. In talking to my family and even my husband who hasn’t known him that long, we’ve all had similar experiences such as feeling water droplets on us but there’s no water, etc… I’ve been thinking to myself that I would invite him to come to me, I’d love the chance to give him one more hug in a dream or something. But now I’m worried that by doing so I’m inviting other spirits, not good ones.
Last night I woke up around 2:30 with horrible cramps (not abnormal for me, I usually take a few ibuprofen, maybe get a heating pad and then I have to lay there in agony for up to an hour. Sometimes even get more ibuprofen). Last night I felt particularly freaked out, like something was there, and I cannot imagine that my grandad’s presence would scare me. At one point I heard a distinct quick 3 knocks on the headboard. My husband was asleep. I said out loud what the hell was that! and no response from him. I started praying.
I felt like it was too deliberate not to mean something and I’m finding online that it may be a demonic entity trying to enter. Has anyone experienced this or have any information?

I haven’t had any paranormal experiences, but both my grandma and my best friend have (repeatedly). It seems like some people are more sensitive to it than others, which may be why your family member has and you haven’t.
If I were in your shoes, I would cease attempting communication immediately. I don’t think it’s worth the risk of bringing something else in. Don’t talk about it in your home, don’t do anything else to invite it in.

woaah, maybe you should talk with a priest, and have some holy water spilled at your house or something.
I hope it’s nothing, try to stay positive.

@MsJ2theZ: Ever since I have been young I have ALWAYS seen shadows of people in my bedroom. When I lived with my parents, it was a young boy who would stand at the edge of my bed. Now that I live with my boyfriend, it’s a man who stands in our bathroom doorway. For some reason, they have never scared me. They have never touched me or talked at all. A few weeks ago I shared this with my boyfriend, in the room where I see the man. Since then I haven’t see him. I know it’s a little different becuase my spirit was harmless. Your scenrio is a little more scary… and I don’t think your grandpa would want to scare you. I really don’t have any advice other than maybe if you’re Catholic, to have your home blessed. I would not try talking to the spirit though..

I dreamt about my dad a lot after he died. I don’t think there’s anything paranormal about it, and wanting that to happen isn’t going to invite in any evil spirits. Maybe look at lucid dreaming for some ideas on how to nudge your dreams in a certain direction, like the topic of your grandad.

If you want to see someone who has passed in a dream, ASK.
As for things that scare you, ask to be surrounded by the sacred divine light. Don’t forget to express thanks as well.

Don’t try to talk to the dead. Let them be. The other day, I was driving by myself, and I tried to talk to my Grandma, who died before I was born. I was just trying to ask if she was in heaven, and if she could pray for me. (I just started RCIA, and we just learned about praying to saints to interceed for us). Well, after I asked, my car’s computer went completely psycho. It kept dipping to 0 mph, when I was continuously going 40 mph. The next day I took my car to autozone and they reset my codes and everything is fine now. I’m not sure what happened. If my computer was glitching, or if a bad spirit may have found me, and was messing with me. Sometimes the devil will want to play with you. You have to remember that he’s a liar. He might pretend to be something he isn’t.
I’m very sorry to hear about your grandfather’s passing. Instead of trying to speak with him, I would instead pray for peace.

If you’re worried about negative spirits, you can burn sage and walk through the home, wafting it around the doors and windows particularly, but make sure you go through each room in the home with the burning sage.

Have you actually ‘invited’ him in yet? If so, you could have opened a door to something negative. If you haven’t done that yet, DON’T. But just by thinking of doing it you haven’t dabbled in things you shouldn’t yet.
Dreams are one thing, openly asking someone who has passed on (to a better place!!), is another. If you are in contact with someone who claims to be your loved one, it dollars for donuts isn’t who you think it is.
Hopefully you haven’t committed to anything yet and the knocks were something else but since you’re on edge you’re thinking otherwise. Keep praying!…And maybe stick a cross under your pillow or place one on your headboard. This always helps me – God’s a powerful dude.

@HisAngel: I too have seen shadows of people all my life, I’ve explained this to SO he accepts my beliefs, doesn’t want to know about everything I see, but he’s supportive. Do you ever see animals? I havent met anyone who shares in my experiences.
@MsJ2theZ: wanting to speak to or see spirit is normal, be prepared that you will not be able to control what else comes forward when you open the door. I find that the knocking that is not in response to a something you asked, is spirit “playing” with you. In all my experiences go with instinct, if you were uncomfortable, it wasn’t the kind of spirit you want to be hanging around. By verbally saying “what the hell was that” you confirmemessage whatever this was had made contact. Don’t be surprised to hear it again. Imagine light, peace, and a wall of protective light around you and your loved ones and out loud firmly and confidently tell the presence that this is “my home, my family, and my life, you cannot harm, you cannot enter this space, you are not welcome here” this has always worked for me. Stand your ground.

@HopingtobeeMrsV: I have seen spiders. Huge ones and lots of them. I actually saw them the other night, shot up and told my SO to look. He couldn’t see them… but I still could. I think it’s becuase I believe more than he does. Also, children tend to see a lot more spirits/ souls becuase they are so pure. Have you ever watched Long Island Medium?

@HisAngel: all the time, but I don’t see like she does. I dont get such clear mesages .
I see cats, or I should say cat like shadows walking/running or just hanging out mostly in impossible places for a cat to be located, like halfway up the wall… It’s strange but I have yet to find meaning to the animals I’ve seen. Only the people.

ugh SO creepy.
I grew up in a house with things in it and now I work in a house with things in it and it freaks me out.
