To all wedding bees! I need some ideas on what to get the parents of the bride and the prents of the groom? I have read that it is traditional to present them with a gift at the rehearsal dinner. Please share your thoughts and ideas!

We’re making photo books with our engagement photos for each set of parents. Snapfish has them on a great deal at $10 for a 20 page linen covered book right now, so it’s also an economical choice for us!

We gave our parents mini albums from our wedding. We also gave them a more personalized gift – my parents we got the Wii because they really liked it when we were at a party and played it most of the night. His parents we took out to dinner at the Hobbit – its a great restaurant that has a wine cellar where you have hors d ‘oeuvres, then go back upstairs for a 6 course dinner.

We’re considering a few ideas–digital cameras, a large picture frame they could put our wedding picture in, embroidered handkerchiefs, massage certificates and/or dinner gift certificates. We’re just not sure how much we want to spend yet.

Not to hijack the thread – but are you getting your parents a gift because they are hosting or helping to host the wedding?
FI and I are paying for the entire thing and it hasn’t even dawned on me to get them a present!!

We’re giving his parents and my stepmom cards and IOUs for wedding albums after we get our pro pics back – they are pitching in for OOT bags and the cake respectively. My mom is paying for about a third of the wedding and we are giving her the same but also bought her a bracelet – I am giving it to her separately so no one feels bad. We thought a little extra something in thanks was important since she’s been more involved financially and emotionally.
@oracle – if you are paying for it yourselves, I don’t think a gift is necessary!

Thank you for all of the help! My parents are paying for the wedding and the groom’s parents are paying for the rehearsal. Both of our parents would enjoy a more sentimental gift than an expensive gift. We were thinking an engraved frame they could keep a wedding picture in. We also had nice pictures done for our church directory that we could also give them.

Does anyone know where I can find personalized paper gift bags to put my bridesmaid gifts in?
