I was wondering the same thing! We are doing mini albums for our parents as well. In addition to it, however, we are including a digital photo frame with engagements pictures loaded to give at the rehearsal dinner. We will also include a note of some sort detailing the album they will be getting. I see nothing wrong with just giving a note or picture in a wrapped box so they can open that for the time being. They are our parents after all.
We're doing the professional photo album as our gift to our parents as well. If you want to give them something at the rehearsal dinner, I think a card is nice. Did you guys do any engagement pictures? You could always make a small album with those pictures, or put one of those pictures in a nice frame and give it to them.
@rachel- The digital photo frame is a nice idea-- I like that!
@hilsy- I think we will definitely do cards with thank yous inside for their contribution. Maybe I will utilize our engagement photos too.
I think that is great!!!
Well now I have a question. We are getting our parents a beautiful 8x10 frame by Lenox/Wedgewood/Reed&Barton, etc. and a professional print.
Do you think that is enough? They aren't paying for our wedding and they know we are on a tight budget as well.
wait, we have to get our parents gifts?? I did not know this.. What about if they're not paying for anything?
We're doing photo albums, but we're not doing a gift exchange at the rehearsal dinner. Actually, come to think of it, I don't know what we are doing at the rehearsal dinner. Just eating I guess, lol.
WE are doing photo albums as well and just giving it to them after the wedding (obviously)

My plan for parent gifts all along was to give them each a smaller professionally done wedding album from our photographer. Now that I am thinking about the gift exchanges at the Rehearsal dinner, will it be strange when they don't have anything to open? Is a photo album an acceptable gift? Should we also buy them something small so they have something to open at the rehearsal dinner? Should we just put a picture of the album they will be getting in a card?
Thoughts? Bees, what are you doing for your parent gifts?
