Parents and in-laws splitting cost of wedding…

It sounds like you’ve got a good system going, but another option would be to simply split the expenses, for example,  if your FMIL pays for the venue, then your parents would pay for the photographer and the flowers, and in the end it’ll work out to about 50/50 wiht you being the bookkeeper to know who is paying for what. 

Ultimately, the best solution is going to be whatever they are all most comfortable with, that way no one feels like it’s not getting accounted for properly, in whatever method is chosen.

My in laws wrote my parents a check for the amount they agreed upon. My mom asked them to send the check when final payments were due.
