I have a boy and a girl and I don’t have a favorite but I do love them for diffrent things and diffrent ways example when my son laughs it is the cutest thing ever but when my daughter smiles she can really light up a room. and my daughter can be very mischevious but I admire how smart she is because sometime she does thing or says things that leave me just say “HOOOOWWWW did she do/know this?!!” my son also gets mischevious but he knows how to butter a person up by climing in your lap and smotthring you in kisses until you can’t be upset. I love them in their own ways for their own reasons but I wouldn’t say I love either more than the other. But as for your dad rember guys tend to be more comfortable with other guys.

I can’t really comment yet on my own children, as I’m only pregnant with my first now but growing up, my parent’s definitely had a favorite.  I’m the only girl with three brothers and one of my older brothers (he’s the second child) could do no wrong in my parent’s eyes.  He’s very charming though so he would charm his way out of any situation and my parent’s would always fall for it.  My oldest brother would get in trouble for something but then “the charmer” would do the same thing some time later and they would just laugh it off.  I personally thought it was very obvious but my parent’s will never admit they had a favorite.

As they’ve gotten older, my best friend’s parents are fairly vocal about their favorites. They have 4 daughters and a son. The “twins”, boy and 3rd daughter born within a year of each other are well aware their mother doesn’t like them. Then again, they did lie and steal and are lazy ingrates. FIs uncle is also very clear about favoritism. The 2 youngest are biologically his and are clearly favored. They don’t actively watch them, just make the oldest their nanny. The second oldest is essentially a tiny handyman. They have him fix the cable or the chairs, etc.

A friend long ago noted the my younger brother was my mom’s favorite and I was my dad’s, leaving my older sister out.  I think it’s true to a degree (my sister doesnt like to talk to my dad about the same things I will, my brother is the youngest/baby/only boy) but they never treated us differently as a result.  About all is dad would try to persuade mom to drive me the 2 hours home if I visited them on the bus (before I had a car).

Well considering as of right now I have 1 child I do have a favorite.. and it be him..

Now if we have another, I don’t believe in favorites, each child should be loved for who they are.
