Ok – so I have a question…we will obviously be getting my parents gifts as they are paying for half of the wedding.
His parents – however – aren’t paying for diddly (sorry but that’s how it is.) 🙁
I like his parents – they’re just pretty poor and his father’s cheap.
Anyways – what type of small gifts would you get for them your parents-in-laws that aren’t helping with the wedding costs? I don’t want to leave them out – but I also don’t want to go extravagant like I might with my parents.
suggestions? his parents are older and live a pretty simple life in a small town.

I think maybe they would like an album from the two of you of your wedding. That’s probably what I am getting M’s mom.

Oh that’s a tough one. What about a picture frame that you can later give them a wedding picture to fit? You can spend anywhere from $ to $$$$ on picture frames and they’ll never know! And if you have e-pics, you can put one in the frame before giving it to them.
My parents are paying a lot more than my FI’s parents but we’re giving each set the same gifts at the rehearsal dinner (so it won’t be awkward). I envision us doing sometihng more for my parents later, after all of the wedding craziness is over. They enjoy traveling and I’d like to give them an overnight stay at a nice hotel in another city, and cover the expense of a really nice dinner on the same trip.

I would just give them a nice picture frame with all of you at the wedding.
