I’m helping my mom plan her May 2013 wedding and she finally found ceremony and reception venues that she loves. The ceremony will be held at a beautiful garden area (pink circle on the map below) and the reception will be held on the 2nd floor of a historical building a few blocks away (blue circle on map). The problem is that there isn’t much parking near either of the venues and she’s inviting 150 people!
There is an elementary school with a large parking lot 2 blocks away from the reception venue and they are OK with us using it. 2 blocks isn’t too bad for walking, right? But we still have the issue of where to park for the ceremony. Should we rent some shuttle vans? Or a bus or something? Any advice you have would be wonderful. 🙂

If I were a guest and you gave me this information on an insert, or on your wedding website, I would park at the elementary scool and walk to the ceremony.
Anyone not capable of a 7 block walk could be dropped off by their driver.
I would never expect you to provide a shuttle for such a short distance.
Frankly, I would never expect you to worry about parking. People are assuming way too much responsibility these days. If I go anywere else, the theater, a restauarnt etc, I have to figure out were to park all by myself .

Yeah I wouldn’t worry about this either and would probably do the same thing as julies1949 suggested. Just make sure that you let guests know that this is where the parking is so that they can plan accordingly by dropping off family members that need it or bringing different shoes. Also, in May it shouldn’t be too hot or cold to walk that distance without sweating.

Thanks for the responses! I think we were worried because the distance looks a lot farther on the map.
