- Wedding: June 2011
The day before the wedding had finally arrived. There I was, running to the train station to pick up my best friend bridesmaid ‘M’, and jetting off to Bliss Spa. Relaxed, I was NOT. While I should’ve been enjoying my overpriced mani & pedi, I compulsively checked my iPhone weather channel app to see if the 60% chance of rain had gone down, while jotting down extra notes and emailing all of my vendors to triple confirm their arrival times for the next day.
After leaving the spa, my future husband drove me and my best friend to the W Hotel in Times Square, but not before making a quick stop at the local Target to pick up clear umbrellas to make for cute rainy day pictures. Once we got to the hotel and began to settle in…it hit me. I was going to be a WIFE, the very next day. We hopped into the complimentary bathrobes and slippers and chilled out until my MOH (my sister, who was celebrating her 29th that day) and her friends arrived. We had a lovely dinner, honoring my Maid/Matron of Honor and of course me, and toasted with some delicious wine before heading back to the hotel room to call it a night. That night I think I managed to get about 4 hours of toss and turn sleep, but it was enough because by 7 am I was wired as ever! The best part was..NO RAIN!
My make-up & hair stylist arrived promptly at 8 am and began with 2 of my bestfriend bridesmaids (bridesmaid #2, ‘T’ had arrived late the night before), then she made up my sister before starting on me:
Here I am trying to remain calm. At this point my parents and the rest of the bridesmaid (DH’s sisters) and my flower girl had arrived.
Finally my hair and make-up was done and the photographers and cinematographers had arrived. I settled down to read a card my Darling Husband had sent along with his sisters.
Then it was time to get into my dress:
I never felt so happy & beautiful before:
Then I headed downstairs into Time Square to meet my groom and to have our first look!
I was soo nervous!
But it all went away once he saw me =)
Then we were off in our 1960’s NYC Checkered Cab!
We drove around town taking pictures before heading to our Ceremony & Reception
..more to come!
