For your wedding reception, did you (or are you planning to) party til the end and say bye to the guests or leave a little early and have the guests send you off? I’m not going on a honeymoon immediately after the wedding. So I’m not in a hurry. I know we will need some help from family to make sure we get everything from the venue, but I feel bad making people work and just leaving.

We ended up just leaving early so our guests could send us off. Although originally I wanted to leave for awhile and then go back to keep partying on. We were staying close to the venue and we popped over to a very sweet outdoor piano bar overlooking the water and we had a a martini and reflected on the day. We didn’t go back. We wanted to keep that "high" of the send off as our parting memory
I too struggled with wanting to go back to help, but I’m sure your family and friends will be delighted to take care of everything so you can go enjoy a romantic late night evening with you new husband.
Plus the send off is so COOL! You’ll love all the cheering and smiles.

if the only reason for not staying is to help clean up and get everything home, then leave early! its your wedding. that being said, our wedding went by so quickly, and we were there until the last second. all our guests said goodbye on their way out, and just a few friends and us stayed, hung out, and took everything home with us….I mean, your wedding will most likely be too much fun to leave early. just ask some people to do the cleaning up for you beforehand, and tell them that you will be leaving!
