I need your help! My best friend and Maid/Matron of Honor just broke up with her boyfriend and she is heartbroken…. worse than I have ever seen her before. The worst part is her bf was planning her a party for her bday next saturday the 27th. I live in Northern California and planned to fly down but he cancelled the whole thing!
I am still going to fly down to see her and I want to suprise her with something great! I need help though… does anyone know good things to do in Passadena or have any ideas of how i can still suprise her with a party?

Are you talking daytime, nighttime, drinking, outdoor activity, or what? Pasadena is a lovely town, but not the most exciting place. Still, there are nice restaurants and bars. Where Fair Oaks, Colorado and Green streets meet in Old Town Pasadena is nice and walkable, lots of shopping and good restaurants. Just google maps the area and look up restaurants.
if it’s a day thing, just you and your friend, Huntington Gardens in Pasadena is GORGEOUS. Hubbo and I love it so much we spent about a million dollars on a membership. It would be sooooo nice to take your friend to tea in the rose garden there. A little pricey at like $30 per person for buffet style finger foods, but the atmosphere is great. The Japanese and Chinese gardens there are stunning, and there is some fine artwork in the mansions as well. Def one of my fav places in Pasadena.

There is a blow dry bar in Old town you and your friend can have your hair and makeup done. It would be a fun girls night. I’m pretty sure they give you champange and you can ask about bring cupcakes or something. Then you can go to dinner. There are also lots of bars on Colorado you can go to after if you like that sort of thing.
as pp mention the huntington gardens is also a good choice for daytime activity. You can walk around the gardens or check out the museums. The tea buffet in the rose garden is nice but a little pricey imo. If you want to enjoy some good tea I would go grab a cup in the chinese garden area. there are some tables that overlook a pond.

PopChampagne Bar is really nice! Old Town is a great place to walk around and find something to do day or night. There’s a Melting Pot Fondue and lots of bars. If you want swanky you can get a room at The Langham and have a girls weekend or you could just spend the day there 🙂
