Depends on where you are.

Does it get a little chilly there at night during that time of year?  Because if it does .. or if your having it inside and the air is cranked up… that could be a wonderful thing for your guests.

I dont think its odd but I think as a summer wedding guest I would rather have a pair of flip flops to change into than a pashmina to put on.

It depends on when you are. For example,  it’s summer where I am right now, but I’m wearing a scarf because I’m cold lol. If it’s chilly at night, I’m sure a lot of your guests will appreciate your thoughtfulness.

I would LOVE getting a pashmina! I love pashminas and scarves, so I would be stoked to get one as a guest!

I am doing this for my August wedding as well!  I wear my pashminas/scarves year-round, so I do not think it is odd.  Half of our reception will be inside with AC pumping – I’m sure they will come in handy.

Not odd at all. Just because it may be warm in the day doesn’t mean that it will be warm in the evening. Alot of places that are boiling hot during the day get incredibly cold at night once the sun sets. Beaches are generally cold, period, due to the cool breezes off the ocean and the temperatures dip quite a bit at night.
