Two hours after I got off the phone with the local postmaster (recapL earlier I heard her inform me that my passport was delivered..the mail handler told her that she REMEMBERED even putting it in my mailbox AFTER logging it in as delivered. ), I received a call that the PASSPORT WAS FOUND!!
It was not even in the mail truck. It was still at the post office. And they were showing it as delivered and even believed it as such.
Later on tonight I will try to begin writing a lengthy article here about what to do if your passport never arrives or is lost. This experience, albeit harrowing, helped me gain a world of knowledge about passports!
Thank you all so much for your love, kindness, and the outpouring of good thoughts, prayers and karma!

Phew, what a relief! I’ve had a few experiences where I’m leaving overseas in a few days, and suddenly realize… "How cow, where’s my passport?!"
Glad it worked out for you! 🙂

Catch, the Bernese Mountain dog "accidentally" tore the cover of my passport in half recently 🙁
I know he didn’t mean it (it wasn’t like he was trying to chew it up… he was trying to get at some food that his mom carelessly left on the table), but now I need a new one.

Mr. Bee~ it was truly a "holy jebus" moment this morning when the post master called me and said the mail handler DISTINCTLY remembered logging it in and then placing it in my mailbox..last week! I will try to get that lengthy article written tonight to help out bees in passport need!
Doctorgirl, your Catch sounds like my Simon! (I have an English Mastiff). He’s a huge baby. Don’t worry. I’ll pull out notes later tonight and send you some info. I swear..i have learned lots about this stuff..the damn hard way! Sorry Catch found a new chew toy!
