Ooo I am doing a destination wedding and would love to know where you ordered your luggage tag save the dates! I would maybe do a plane ticket invite? maybe do "ticket to paradise"
I wish I could do plane tickets, but my MOH got married in March in Vegas and did plane tickets. She already expressed that she would be upset if I did the same thing. Ughhh..
I got my save the dates from Branchville Studio. Here is the link: http://www.branchvillestudio.com/
Meagan does awesome work and has stellar customer service!!
Hi there!
I recently found this website: http://www.invitationsbydawn.com/index.jsp. Don't know if you've heard of them, but they have some SUPER CUTE passport and destination invites for a decent price! What about something like this for a USA wedding?

There's a cute Save the Date Card there too:

My best friend had the same issue and we thought these were pretty fair compromises :) The best part is this site does FREE SAMPLES!!
Good Luck!
I did a lot of research when I was thinking about what type of invitation I wanted to do for our Vegas wedding. I wanted to stay away from the whole card/chip theme so we went with the boarding pass idea...but we were VERY tempted to go the passport route! I copied some ideas online and made them with an uber talented friend.

I voted to stay away from the passport invitations, but I really like them. Too bad youre not going out of country!
ETA - Well I didnt see that you were forbidden from doing the ticket idea...so if I could change my vote to YES PASSPORTS I would. Have you thought about doing a beach wedding invitation? There are a ton of colorful ideas that are super cute.
I would think it was weird if I got a passport invite if I didnt need a passport to get there. That's just me though. I do like the other plane ticket ones everyone has posted above- we did one of those as our STD.
If you want to go the passport route you can always spin it like passport to love or something not related to international travel.
Thank you everyone for your help! I decided NOT to go with traditional passport invitations. Meagan at Branchville Studio made me a postcard-look passport that looks like a Ft. Myers Beach postcard on the front and used the pages inside to put resort/destination information and the itinerary. I thought it was a pefect solution. :)

Hello!
I am having a destination wedding in Fort Myers Beach, Florida on April 28, 2012 at the Pink Shell Beach Resort & Spa. My FI and I live in Ohio, and our family is spread out all over the country.
I sent out magnet, luggage tag save the dates that even had string attached to make them look more realistic. Super cute! I am now looking at doing passports for invitations. They are gorgeous and include a lot of information. The front of them will say something like "Passport to Love" or "Passport to Paradise."
Do you think people would wonder why the heck I'm sending passport invitations when the wedding is in the USA? Are passport invites more for international weddings that actually require the use of a real passport to travel there? (i.e. Mexico, Dominican, etc...)
I'm really interested in your opinions! I can't decide! :)
