I like asparagus more than brocoli, but if you don’t and you think guests may not I think your veggie choices are good. I would prefer penne noodles over farfalle, but its really not a big deal, looks good!

We are doing a pasta bar also [sort of, catering in from fazoli’s].

The only veggie we are having is brocolli, but we are also having 3 types of soup available, 1 being tomato.

Sounds delicious. I don’t think you can really go wrong with any of the options, but I like the options you chose and I think I’d probably choose them as well.

Broccoli makes sense to me, as it’s often paired with/served with alfredo dishes.

Personally, I would recommend replacing one of the veggies with the red or green pepper. I just find a lot of people have some sort of strong feelings towards mushrooms, broccoli or zucchini, while red or green peppers is a bit more widely favoured. I’ve also done peppers in pasta, and it’s quite good. So, for me I would probably go with red peppers, zucchini and mushrooms (although I’m not really a mushroom person, but it makes sense with pasta).

I think your veggie choices are fine. If it were me I’d choose mushrooms, broccoli and red pepper.

I agree with not adding bell peppers. I like mushrooms, asparagus, and zucchini the best. I think your menu looks good!

I think I would do exactly the same thing.  The only thing I MIGHT switch around would be nix broccoli and add red pepper.  That way you have one green veggie, a red, and mushrooms.

@pocketfox:  +1 My FI and I both hate mushrooms (I find a lot of people do) and I’m indifferent about zucchini. I think I’d replace the zucchini with red peppers… I never make any pasta without them! I also love Penne, but as long as you have lone long noodle and one short you’re good.

@aggie2010:

Pasta: Penne & Linguini

Sauce: Alfredo & Marinara

Veges: Mushrooms, asparagus & broccoli (red peppers or zucchini are ok too but green peppers do not belong in pasta)

Meat: Chicken (if you can add it)

I actually love basil pesto, so I would change the marinara for that to be honest. And I would change the broccoli for asparagus and zuchini for peppers

I love your sauces & veggie choices!  I think I’d go with Penne as one of the two pastas – penne and linguini or angel hair.
