I said plain just because I know my pave has already lost one stone – my new ring in the works now is going to be plain!

@Sanibel13:  I’m for the pave, but they’re both beautiful!

I have plain. I don’t have to worry about loseing diamonds and I stack all different bands with it without competition  Right now I have a plain band next to it with a eternity.

@Sanibel13:  I love my pave! To me it feels a bit more special, but I think either choice is timeless and classic:)

@Sanibel13:  The pave is soooo beautiful. Unfortunately, pave is known for losing stones/being delicate. My setting looks like pave, but it’s micro-prong set. Each tiny diamond has 4 prongs holding it in…Maybe you could sell the pave setting and get one that is more secure. It won’t be the one from your husband, but it’ll look similar and be secure.

They both look gorgeous on you. The yellow gold flatters you so beautifully! It would be so hard to choose; on the one hand, the pave is stunning. On the other hand, I would find the lower profile and the fact I wouldn’t have to worry about stones coming out attractive, but then I’m clumsy.

I would go the plain solitaire – you can always go a plain or sparkely wedding band! I’m not a huge fan of pave (or other diamond) engagement ring with a plain wedding band, IMO they look better the other way around.
