Not sure of the etiquette, but my niece is my FG. I picked out  the dress, but my sister is paying for it.

I think “normally” her parents would pay for the dress.

However, I did pay for all my BM dress, my FG dress, and the RB suit (thankfully all the GM’s had their own black suits!).

My cousin (whose daughter is our flower girl) paid for it.  We all went shopping together and got her budget info beforehand.

Typically I think the parents pay for them.

But all our FGs are our nieces so it’s no big deal, we’re paying for it.

It’s like a BM thing, you and the flowers girl’s parents should pick it out (since she’s younger, my personal opinion is that her parents should get some say in what she wears) and her parents purchase the dress.

I think her parents should purchase it. But to be fair, ask about a budget beforehand. Maybe be prepared for options at different price points? Or go shopping together and feel the situation out?

We just paid for it. But I wanted to pick it out b/c i was afraid of what her parents would have gone with. I am really against little girls in spaghetti straps and I’m almost sure that’s what her Mom would have picked. So to be fair, I picked it out, paid for it and shipped it to them.

I’m paying for the dresses for my two nieces (brother’s daughters) because I know their finances are tight and mine are pretty good. My third FG has a dress her mom bought her. I think it depends on your financial comfort level vs. that of FG’s family. BTW, my girls are wearing cute dresses from amazon.com (recommended by another Bee) for about $50/each — much cheaper than the bridal stores we visited!

I think that the parents buy the dress. That’s what happened for us – my SIL bought the dress for our FG before we even asked her to be a FG, haha. Got a picture text with the little princess in the dress already, haha 🙂

Generally I think the parents pay.  I paid for our 3 flower girl dresses (his nieces) since both families have to travel.  However, I got them at Burlington Coat Factory for less than $25 a piece.

I also think that the parents pay. In our case, my nieces and FI’s niece are our flower girls. My sister doesn’t have much money so we just paid for  all of them.
