What does your contract say?
I think our balance is due the week of the wedding (same as most vendors).
The Client shall make a deposit to retain the Photographer to perform the services specified herein. At such time as this order is completed, the deposit shall be applied to reduce the total cost and Client shall pay the balance due.
Doesn't that seem like after we get our proofs? I'm confused.
I usually expect to be paid when I give clients the photos.
From reading "at such time as this order is complete", I would assume it would be after you got your pictures. Your order is not complete until you get your pictures.
Interesting. I'm paying mine in installments, the last one due before the wedding. If you're confused, you should ask your photographer. We can't read their mind, so you won't get a definite answer from us :-).

Just wondering - did you pay your photographer the full balance of what he/she was owed before the wedding or after you received your pictures?
