AmyintheTARDIS: what a lovely start to the latest installment of this thread!

Hey ladies! I’ve been following along (a late congrats to the original thread-starter @MrsTwister on her recent BFP!) but had taken a bit of a break from posting for a while. Hope you all know I was here in spirit and rooting for each and every one of you though. Welcome to the new ladies and may all of us have a short stay here on PCOS thread #3!

• Ya’ll can call me Lillie 🙂 DH and I are both 31.
• Just diagnosed with PCOS this year in late February (at age 30….seriously had no clue!!!)
• Since July 2013…so it’s been over 13 months now 🙁
• I’ve been seeing an RE for a few months and I go in there several times a week (usually for ultrasounds and blood draws to see what the hell is going on!). Just finished my 3rd round of Clomid (150 mg this time), taken days 5-9. This month, we’ve amped it up a bit. I had an “hsg” last week (what I had was actually a “water/fluid ultrasound”)…I know most people say it’s “uncomfortable” but it was truly awful for me….they basically had to do it twice because they ran out of fluid on the one side and were just going to call my one tube “clear/good” and i was like, “oh hell no, we’re here so do it again to make sure.” anyway, I had a lot of side effects, including mind-numbing right-sided shoulder pain (apparently a “rare” side effect caused by the air irritating my diaphragm), shortness of breath, and just in general feeling super bloated/crampy like the worst period I’ve ever had multiplied by 100. I was crying from the pain (after, not during), and felt like I was going crazy because I didn’t think it was supposed to be anything too bad at all (i mean, they asked if I was “going back to work” after the procedure!) Anywho, tonight I just took an hcg injectable (at home) and have an IUI scheduled for this week (eep!) I’m trying not to get my hopes up this cycle because my emotional state has been pretty fragile lately and I’ve just been feeling overwhelmed by life in general (probably due to all of this).
• No chart…I haven’t been temping bc it was making me too cray cray
• So I’m about ready to delete my facebook if I see one more pregnancy announcement, or get one more hesitant email/text from yet another pregnant friend who has to “break their joyous news” to poor old barren me. lol…
• crafting, repurposing, designing, taking care of plants, cats, reading, working on our house, playing sports, zumba….hmm pretty much anything other than working/TTC!

lillieb33: Good luck with IUI, fingers crossed for you!

AmyintheTARDIS: Thanks for starting the next thread. Hope we all have shorter stays this time.

• Name/nickname, age (if you want)- DH and I are both 31
• When you were diagnosed with PCOS- Dx at 16. I never had a period, had some hair growth on my face, acne, weight gain.. all those fun symptoms.
• How long you’ve been TTC- NTNP from Sept to Dec then went full speed ahead beginning in January.
• Where you are in the process (natural, starting interventions, meds, IUI/IVF, etc)- Just took my first round of clomid. Currently 4dpo I think (negative OPKs when I’ve had reliable positives in the past but thinking the negs were due to diluted urine- DH and I were on vacay at the beach and drinking water excessively to stay hydrated! Didn’t realize it might mess with the OPKs. Grrr). If that’s accurate, clomid gave me my earliest O to date moving from a late 20s avg to CD19!!
• Chart links to your FF chart if you want to share- Ma super exciting chart!
• Your favorite non-TTC activity or hobbies!- Reading, craptastic TV, longs walks around nyc, eating desserts and pretending they don’t make me fatter 😉

Good luck ladies! It’s been so nice to have so many of you to share with/vent to/understand what I’m going through. Babies for everyoneee!

• Name/nickname, age (if you want)-DH and I are both 27.
• When you were diagnosed with PCOS-March 2014
• How long you’ve been TTC-since January 2013
• Where you are in the process (natural, starting interventions, meds, IUI/IVF, etc)– Have been trying naturally and are finally ready to move forward with meds
• Chart links to your FF chart if you want to sharehttp://www.fertilityfriend.com/home/katiz
• Any other complicating factors you want to note– Two weeks ago, DH told me he was ready to start with Clomid and my clinic requires that we make a decision regarding genetic screening before we can start treatment. So I rushed and got our testing in so that we could hopefully get on the Clomid train by mid-September in an effort to avoid a late summer baby. But the results take 2-3 weeks to come in. And of course, today is CD 1 after a perfect, textbook 28 day cycle with O on CD 14 (that we missed because who is taking opk’s on CD 12 when your cycles are 80 days?). Our screening results aren’t in so now we’ll probably need to wait until spring
• And last but not least, your favorite non-TTC activity or hobbies!– Sewing, reading, and youtube.

I’ve been terrible with roll calling and then disappearing. I’m going to work on it. Nothing happens in my cycles for a long time so I don’t have much to add most of the time. But I do read and think of you all often.

Ok, I will roll call, with a warning that I am CD1 of Cycle 7 today, so I’m cutting out for a bit and then will probably be back once I’m in the usual TWW madness…

• Name/nickname, age (if you want): I’m 30, DH is 31
• When you were diagnosed with PCOS: Jan 2014
• How long you’ve been TTC: Since Jan 2014… we decided to TTC and then I had a 47 day cycle, which prompted the doctor’s visit and the diagnosis. Oh, if only that one had meant pregnancy…
• Where you are in the process (natural, starting interventions, meds, IUI/IVF, etc): Currently taking prenatals, Vitex, and 500mg (min. dose) of Metformin. DH has started taking FertilAid for Men, and we used Pre-Seed (fun!). This is our last cycle before I go back to discuss further treatment options. So far, the Met is giving me textbook-perfect 28 day cycles with CD 13 ovulation… but no BFP to show for it (YET!).
• Chart links to your FF chart if you want to share: My Ovulation Chart
• Any other complicating factors you want to note: Why isn’t my body like IKEA furniture, where as long as I follow the instructions, I get the desired item at the end??
• And last but not least, your favorite non-TTC activity or hobbies!: I read a lot, and though it’s TTC-related in that it manages the PCOS, I have been going to the gym 2-3 days a week and enjoying it. I now do Zumba, conditioning, and Pilates regularly, and combined with the Met, I think I’m starting to see results!

• Name/nickname, age (if you want)- DH and I are 27
• When you were diagnosed with PCOS- April 2014
• How long you’ve been TTC– NTNP since April, possibly seriously TTC next cycle now that I’m charting
• Where you are in the process (natural, starting interventions, meds, IUI/IVF, etc)- Natural. I stopped BC last November so I’m still trying to understand my cycles to figure out if/when I O. I’ve had 3 cycles since November, one with Provera. I do take 1000mg of Metformin which seems to be helping shorten my cycles.
• Chart links to your FF chart if you want to share http://www.fertilityfriend.com/home/4984eb
• Any other complicating factors you want to note– I guess we will find out!
• And last but not least, your favorite non-TTC activity or hobbies!– We got a puppy over the summer so she’s been our focus, she’s like our child now! I would love to say that we have some cool hobbies, but we’re kind of homebodies…we love binge watching shows, more than I would like to admit. I enjoy exercising, happy hours with friends – while I still can , hikes with friends (more like walking on pretty trails), I’m trying to get into cooking more as well!

AmyintheTARDIS: Thank you for starting the new thread!

• Name/nickname, age (if you want): sheclicksherheels (clicksherheels on FF) I’m 29 and DH is 25.
• When you were diagnosed with PCOS: December of 2013
• How long you’ve been TTC: Since April 2013…16 long months.
• Where you are in the process (natural, starting interventions, meds, IUI/IVF, etc): I already did 6 rounds of clomid unmonitored (as per my GYN). I ovulated 5 of the times, but no BFP. I’m currently on cd11 and took 5mg of Femara cd5-9. The Femara is also unmonitored. I had an HSG (tubes are clear!) and DH had an SA (amazing!). In February I started taking 1000mg of Metformin and went on a low carb diet. Since then I’ve lost 25lbs, which I think is helping my cycle. I’m also seeing a Naturopathic doctor and I’m seed cycling and taking a bunch of supplements (prenatal, probiotics, fish oil, b-complex, rosemary oil before O and Progestomend after O). I’ve also started doing yoga for my bad back, which I’m hoping will also help with my cycle.
• Chart links to your FF chart if you want to share: My Chart
• Any other complicating factors you want to note: A bit overweight. I’d like to lose another 10-20lbs.
• And last but not least, your favorite non-TTC activity or hobbies!:
Reading, travelling, binge watching tv shows, my 3 cats.

phillybride61513: girl I’m right there with you. I keep staring at my chart as if it’ll tell me whether I’m pregnant or not. Hope you’re finding ways to distract yourself!

I’m already not feeling confident this cycle. My temps have been kinda unreliable I think so I’m still not even positive I really ovulated. Gah I need to step awayyy.

Kabatchy2be: Hang in there! I’m not temping (yet) although thinking about trying if this isn’t our month. I worry temping will make me even more obsessed than OPK’ing already has. I find that every time I manage to forget about it, another “symptom” (imagined or real, who knows) hits me and I’m suddenly thinking about it again. I can say that I feel very different this cycle (including my O process on the 11th) than any cycle before.

A list of my insane “symptoms” include: visibly larger and firmer? breasts with occasional pain (shooting and aching, but not really sustained), gas (both ends), period of extreme hunger and times when I would normally be hungry that I’m not hungry, occasional “super nose” smelling issues, period-like cramps and occasional weird pinchy unperiod-like cramps, super vivid dreams (some including pregnancy and/or tests, some unrelated), yesterday I had some “metal mouth” that went away and today I have a severe headache and I can’t focus.

Luckily I leave for my friend’s wedding in Denver tomorrow morning so Saturday will be a happy day regardless of AF or no AF…

AmyintheTARDIS: “shark week” is killing me. Interesting that you’re a day late, though…no? Who knows, maybe you’ll get a surprise while you’re there (and I don’t mean of the bloody persuasion). If nothing else, Clomid is a miracle drug and so many people have success with it.
