Remember that you can use your peacock colors in the lantern, not just the flowers.
This one has the blue glass
you could also get inexpensive lanterns from Ikea and spray paint them in a color of your choice.
this one has a rustic barn look
you could use a wood slab as a base
or just a piece of old barnboard
you could make peacock balls and place a cluster of them beside the lantern
@julies1949: I love the idea of the peacock feather balls, maybe also using tealights around them?? Sounds like a cute theme!!
We have very similar weddings. We are in an old barn too, except we aren't allowed candles :( So we are doing an array of vintage white glass vases with flowers in our color scheme (which are colors inspired by the peacock feather, purples, blues, golds) mixed with some actual peacock feathers in the arramgements. Do you ahve your bridesmaids dresses and bouquets chosen yet? I'd love to see some of your stuff!
thanks so much for the responses! i have seen those feather balls but i dont understand how you would make them? i am definitely not crafty haha .. but they would look super cute!
my bridesmaids dresses are black chiffon but i cant quite choose which style i wanted.. im thinking a one shoulder dress with a sweetheart neckline similar to this

my bouquets are going to be silk flowers because i have a fear of them wilting and worried about delivery.. i am ordering mine custom off etsy and i got a really good price for them!
here is the link to the orginal i saw.. i changed my colours a bit

then as for my flower girl shes wearing a peacock headband and a teal diaper cover (she will be 16 months old at my wedding)
To make the balls you would just get satin wrapped balls in the color(s) of your choice and wrap them with a peacock feather . Use mod podge to make it stick as it dries clear.
I love that headband! Too sweet. I'm not too crafty either, but I have been trying my hand at crafting and it's not too bad. As far as flowers, I have had bridesmaids bouquets that still looked fresh a week after ther wedding. When you get them made the florist must spray them with some crazy stuff. So I wouldn't worry about wilting.
I came across this peacock stuff on sale today on Macy’s and thought some of you peacock brides might like this as part of your décor:

PERSONALIZED FOR YOU OF COURSE

All for sale :) runners...EVERYTHING you need for a complete decor package for a peacock wedding....easy as that :) Inbox with interest
You could still do the tall cylinder vases with water, but instead use curly willow branches. And for the top you could have small floral arrangements with some peacock feathers in those. Then maybe some small floating candles in smaller vases around the tall vases.

Hey Guys
Im trying to figure out which centrepieces will go with my theme.. I only have little bits of peacock in throughout my wedding but I am stuck on what to do with my centrepieces! FYI: my bridesmaids are in black, and my main colours are purple/blue but I have a couple dashes of hot pink in only MY bouquet.
I like the idea of floating candles but I dont have any orchids in my bouquet to match if i were to submerge a flower.. Im also thinking maybe a little lantern from davids bridal to put in the middle of the table but I dont know how to tie in the peacock theme, or even how to add blue/purple into it and without it seeming too boring with just a lousy lantern on the table.
My reception is in an old restored barn so I dont want my centrepieces to be too tall. and I dont want to have to worry that much about someone else setting up my centrepieces while I am getting ready (its the OCD I swear).
If anyone has any ideas/pictures I would really really appeciate it!
