I am a definite pear (haha). Measurements are 34-28-40. Honestly, I found I had a fairly wide choice of things that looked OK. It just depends on your preferences. I do think being taller helped make my proportions seem less obvious, though.

I am pear shaped and had some definite ideas about what would look good on me and what wouldn’t… And of course I was wrong, haha.  I went in thinking I could only wear ballgowns or A lines and didn’t want to waste time trying on other silhouettes.  Don’t make this mistake!  Seriously, try on every shape.  It wasn’t until my second appointment when the sales ladies insisted I was crazy for not trying mermaid/ fit and flare shapes that I gave in… and found my perfect dress!  (I’d share pics but am posting from my iPad and don’t have any on here.)  I posted about my experience in detail if you look at my previous threads. 🙂

I’m pear shaped (33 1/2-27-38 1/2) and petite (4’11”), and a-lines with sweetheart necklines or v-necks looked the best on me!  I just picked my dress yesterday, so here’s a picture!
