I’m more of an hourglass (street 14/16) but I have large hips. I chose a trumpet and got nothing but compliments on it on my wedding day! Don’t let anyone put you in a dress style that you don’t like, rock the curves!

misschickpea:  My first thought on seeing your photo was. “OMG that looks STUNNING!!!” I even said it out loud!  You really rock that dress.

misschickpea:  You are gorgeous! I’m loving your curves! Damn, making me rethink my die-hard love for ball gowns, if I can look that stuning I might go for a fit-and-flare!

LonnyLee:  Winterbride_England:  RhianfaHW:  Aww thanks ladies! Don’t be afraid of form fitting dresses! Always try on the dresses you’re afraid of or think you won’t like, you may be surprised!

misschickpea:  You look amazing! Thanks for the inspiration, I am going to rethink my safe A-line dress Plans. Thank-you for sharing.

TheBlackCrane, I say rock the flared trumpet, this look is hot! Yay for curves! I like a trumpet with straps too, plenty of support for the girls so you can be more comfortable and not be hoiking the top up all day. If you’re smaller on top, beading adds visual balance.  No sack dresses allowed!

misschickpea:  amazing!

You girls look really really good and this topic is just what I need.

OK I don’t know if I’m considered plus size (Street size 10-12), but I feel i relate a lot with this part of the hive and read a lot on it and this topic is really exactly what I was looking for.

I know I look great in A-lines such as this

Yes certainly covers up my pear shape completely. Love it. But part of me (BIG part of me), has my heart set on fit and flare. Not mermaid necessarily but definitely showing off those curves. I like it. But I’m scared it doesn’t look so good on me.

I tried on one figure hugging dress and wasn’t quite it for me..

Is that dress considered a full mermaid, trumpet, fit and flare or what? It made me look quite bulky I think. But I do love those dresses and think it’s soo nice to show off those curves when you have them. I am such a pear with big boobs so a bit of hour glass too. Do you think I can pull off a fit and flare?

misschickpea:  Gorgeous girl!  I’ve always been self conscious about my hips/thighs.I’m only 5’0 and more like a 6-8 in the top, small waist, and a big hips, thighs and a big ole’ booty.  I did purchase a modified/slim A-line gown (Maggie Sottero Emma), but during the alteration stage, I think I might have to have altered to more of a fit n flare shape, seeing how amazing you look!  Thanks for the inspiration!  You rocked it! 🙂  And look SO HAPPY! 🙂
