Just buy dixie bathroom cups. I never experienced a smell issue.
I always used cups bc sometimes I just couldn't urinate enough for the time needed. I never had issues with the bathroom smelling or the trash. I used plastic disposable cups and I rinsed them with water but flushed it in the toilet.
@mwitter80- Ok, I just hate when a bathroom smells like pee and want to avoid that at all costs.
I also use dixie cups. We have a scented oil thing in there, so maybe that hides the pee smell if any. I never noticed it at all. If your pee smells that bad, you might want to look into a urologist or drink more water. Even my most concentrated pee doesn't smell bad at all.
Thanks girls. My bathroom never smells but I can't even enter a public bathroom if it smells like pee because I will automatically vomit. I just want to avoid my house smelling like that. I don't have an issue now but I didn't know about having the cup sit out for a little while and also the disposal of the cup would make everything smell.
I used plastic disposable cups and just dumped the pee back in the toilet when I was done and put the cup in the wastebasket. I never smelled any urine. If you are sensitive to the smell, just swish it with a little water, rinse, then throw it away.
@roxy821: I do what jenn does too. But I have a covered trash can in the bathroom, thanks to our trash-digging dog. So maybe that helps cut down on the smell?
I never had any issues either. I would just rinse the plastic cup and reuse it the next day....better for the environment. I couldn't justify throwing away all those cups!
I use a clear hard plastic cup that we had leftover from a party. It's the perfect size to fit but keep everything in the cup (if you know what I mean). I went months before I switched to the cup but it's so much better than trying to make sure you hit the stream : ) I personally just rinse with water day to day, but use a new one each month.

I am really grossed out by the whole idea of peeing in a cup and having the clean it out myself for the OPK's. I tried the digital tests and after two failed attempts, the monitor from both tests broke by the second day. So I think I need to try the simple ones.
Do you have any suggestions on what cups to buy and also how to keep the smell down? Of course I will pour out the sample, any tips on how to avoid the smell in the trash and also in the bathroom after the cup sits for a little bit for the test. I know it's gross but I was hoping someone might be able to help.
