I've been thinking about this---how in the world am I going to pee while in my dress when I have all that stuff to wear?  I hate the thought of having to undress completely and then put it all back on--I'll miss like 30 minutes of the reception!  Or am I just dumb here????

    Deep Breath!!

What I found best was to wrap the dress around me.  It was actually pretty easy when I always thought it would be this daunting task.  The hardest part was the veil.  And I only peed before the ceremony...I never had to go during the reception.

I've thought about the same thing.

Gross, but Spanx DO have a pee hole in them :-\

I honestly don't plan on drinking very much so I dont have to pee!

You're not being dumb!  Definitely go before you get in your dress though.  Cant you just remove the spanx and lift up the crinoline with your dress? I have no idea how I did it, but once I put my dress on (around 5pm) I didnt have to go to the bathroom the entire night.  It mustve been the excitement of everything though because once the reception was over at midnight, I felt like I was going to explode on the way back to the hotel :)

I don't really have any tips, only that I can agree with everyone else about not having to go. I was worried about it before the wedding, but i didn't have to go for 8+ hours and  I was drinking plenty of water. It must have been a wedding day miracle.

I sure hope these people are joking.

I just realized I never had to go, either! For 7+ hours! I must have had a miracle, too, because I'm ordinarily a constant pee-er.

But if you have to go, isn't this something a bridesmaid is supposed to help you with? I'm sure I saw that in "27 Dresses". ;-)

ok I have posted this on here before but just so you know- once you take the tall spanxx off with a corset dress they dont go back on! I just stashed mine in my bag for the rest of the night since my other option was get re-dressed!

I'm dress shopping for the first time tomorrow and ability to pee solo is a serious factor I'm considering-- even though my awesome MOH assured me she'd help me if needed haha.

Get a catheter and strap the bag to your leg with your garter.

Just kidding! :) Just got my spanx today though and they definitely complicate things.

I think Spanx have pee holes?  lol  Tongue out

I drank a lot of water (it was a hot day and I didn't want to get dehydrated) before the ceremony... that along with the multiple glasses of champagne I had at the reception made me have to pee TWICE during the reception.  But, I only wore a nude thong under my dress, and my MOH helped me lift my dress while I went.  Kinda awkward, but she's my BFF so I didn't care.   It didn't take much longer than going to the restroom in normal everyday clothes.

HAHAHA  You girls are funny!  The thing is, my dress isn't difficult.  It's a simple A-line.  It's the business going on underneath.  I don't know anyone who wears the Spanx by themselves much less pee through that hole.  I still wear a thong under them because I think wearing them by themselves is just a weird feeling.  I also don't have a bridal party so that doesn't help and I don't know anyone I would like to see me with my dress hiked up.  I was joking with my FI that IF I decided the only option I had was to not wear a thong and wear the Spanx by themselves and pee through the opening they provide---seriously, gross---what if I got a little on it?!  The bride would smell a little like pee.  Lovely!  HAHA  But seriously, I could kick myself for not getting on the fitness wagon and staying on it, the wedding is in less than 2.5 months and there is no way I can lose enough weight that I wouldn't need Spanx......this sucks!

I only went twice at the reception -- I was dehydrated the whole day so I was good from 2-8, when the drinks started to hit me. A bridesmaid went with me and held my skirt, very glamorous :)

I went only once between putting on my dress until I took it off. I went after the pro pics, bustle, before the reception started. My mom went back to the hotel suite with me and she held the front of my dress while I held the back and went. We laughed!

Wow, I may have problems! I absolutely can not pee in front of other people. I will either have to wrangle my dress on my own or hold it I guess.

Hmm, maybe I SHOULD get those bridal diapers. ;-)

LOL. this post is hilarious..and right on the money. I'll be wearing my Spanx and yes they have pee holes, but I don't know about going in them..lol

I'm wondering if places let you use your bridal room all day throughout the wedding. I hope they do, because I was hoping to take my dress off and the Spanx to pee in my bridal room bathroom. LOL..man so much work...geeze...anyone know if you can use your bridal room all day?

I couldn't take my dress off..had the Hollywood tape to keep my strapless in place...and I was so sweaty by that point that I wouldn't have wanted to take off the dress and put it back on. It isn't a big thing to have friends or mom or whomever hold your dress while you pee. Everybody I know has done this method...just talk and don't worry about it. You lose a heck of a lot less time this way too!

@Jenn23: I don't think I would take me dress off, just lift it over my head or something. I absolutely can not pee with someone else in the room. I can't even do it with the FI and I never use public bathrooms. The whole idea just disgusts me to be honest.

I'll manage on my own. ;-)

@qtxmsred:  It all depends on the place you have.  Some places only let you use it before the ceremony and others let you use it all day.  The place I'm at, there isn't a bridal room at all.  There should be but they haven't finished it at all because of the economy----it's not a typical big ta-do wedding venue but they do like 30 weddings a year and it's gorgeous.  I have to get ready at the hotel, wrap myself up in a bed sheet so I don't get dirty getting in and out of the car and go that way....my sister did this method too since she got married in a park.  Apparently a lot of girls get ready in the bathroom of the venue, but seriously, I'm not slipping into my wedding gown with a toilet in the background--it's done in the handicap stall that's huge apparently.  Yes, Photoshop could take it out but I don't care...not my thing.

@serasvictoria  I understand! Hope you figure something out! How do you manage without using public restrooms? I'm just curious. :)  My hubby and I have no privacy needs when it comes to peeing, but we draw the line there. :)  lol

@Jenn23: I guess I should clarify I won't use a public stalled bathroom. If it is a locked door situation then I'm okay with that and germs don't bother me at all (I don't use those toliet napkin thingies). I actually mentally know all the resteraunts and bars in town with single-use bathrooms and try to steer people to those locations. If not, I hold it or excuse myself for an outdoor break and find the nearest gas station (since most of them are single-use).

Now if it is an absolute emergency then I have no choice I guess, but that has only happened a handful of times. Oh and I have no problem with the casinos in vegas because their bathrooms are SO HUGE I can usually go all the way to the last stall and nobody comes near.

I realize I am extremely weird regarding this. Honestly I didn't have any horrific bathroom experiences. I just feel weirded out and gross when I hear other peoples...uh...bathroom activites.

@serasvictoria  Thanks for explaining. Very interesting to me! I have no problems with public bathrooms other than the fact that they are all DIRTY! Yuck! LOL I hate going anywhere in public. Makes you appreciate your home much more, huh?  :)
