I received a beautiful platinum and diamond pendant from my FMIL that has been in her family for generations and I would like to wear it on my wedding day. However, there is no chain for it and when I went to my jeweler, I was quoted really high prices--several hundred dollars for a platinum chain and not much less for white gold, which would be more likely to wear away if I wear the necklace often.
Do you know any suppliers of platinum chains that are inexpensive? Or, can you think of any other materials that would be cheaper and would look nice enough to wear on my wedding day? One thought I had was silk cord but I'm not sure if that would look strange? Thanks for your help!
