YAY - - I am SO SO happy for you guys. Obviously not happy for what happened to Pennie but rather so happy how "Mr Shaw" has taken 100% responsibility of his dogs behavior and action.....YAY - - cheers to Pennie's recovery Laughing

    HAPPY FRIDAY, lol

That's awesome!  So much better than trusting him to pay for it.  I never knew insurance companies paid for damage your dog does to other dogs.  I knew it covered if someone hurt themself on your property but not that.

@MissAsB - I didn't know if it applied to other dogs or just humans.  It really sucks if you own a "dangerous" breed though.  Some carriers won't take you on period and others will charge you extra.

It was through his renter's insurance. I didn't know that, either since it wasn't Pet Insurance. With State Farm, they cover dog on dog attacks with Renter's Insurance on a case by case basis. We were very lucky they accepted his claim. If he had "made payments" and decided to "forget" later we would have had to go to court. I'm glad we get to skip that step all together.

We were forgiving and decided not to charge for her appt yesterday (It was 5 bucks to have the drain taken out) or the 26th (also will be $5) Plus it wasn't worth waiting a week to add 10 bucks to the claim.

Thanks again to everyone for the awesome support! = D You're all the best!

Fantastic!  I'm so glad it all worked out.  Now you can just focus on Pennie's brilliant recovery and not have to worry about Mr. Shaw's nonsense.

P.S. Out of curiosity, has he ever apologized?  I sure hope so!  He owes Pennie (and you guys) a giant box of dog treats and maybe some ice cream and beer.

@WeeBirdy- Kind of. When we went to speak with him about it yesterday he seemed more worried about possibly losing his dog. He didn't give Pennie an outright apology. No, "I hope your dog heal quickly" or anything like that. Just:

"Oh, S***. He did get her, and I'm out of a job too, and on unemployment. I'm having trouble making my rent this month. I'm sorry this happend. He's only recently become dog aggressive because another dog attacked him. He just got a bump on the head, though. I guess I can see if my Renter's Insurance will cover it."

Really. REALLY? What a coincidence his dog got attacked. I feel bad he's not working, but what did he want us to say? "Oh, never mind. We'll come up with the money. Hope you find a job!"

    Seriously!

Yay! I'm so glad this got resolved quickly. At least you can plan your move without having to worry about your friend footing the bill for Pennie.

yeay! thats awesome that they will cover it!  i really hope pennie gets better/starting feel like herself again soon!

sadly, i have seen several dogs become dog aggressive after being attacked...i hope his dog is able to emotionally heal and doesn't hurt any other dogs if this really was the case.

I know! Here are a couple pics I sent the insurance guy (real camera ones, not off a cell phone this time).

I think it's safe to say the agent felt bad for her when he agreed to pay the claim in full.

Those pictures make me feel so bad for your pup! I'm glad she's going to make a full recovery. Poor little thing.  My furbaby starts heartworm treatment on Monday, so he's going to have a rough couple weeks coming up too. :(

That's her "You left me and a big meanie hurted me, Daddy!" face. It's so sad to look at them!

Right now she's REALLY bored. She just wants to go out for a walk already! lol. We are hoping the vet will give us the okay to walk her out of the office on Friday instead of crating her again. If not, she'll begin walking again the 29th.

You guys are the best! = )

Oh, yikes.  Some people just have no idea how to apologize.  But of course the most important thing is that Penny's going to be ok!  I'm so glad she's doing better, and hope she gets to go on a walk soon :)

We actually took her for a short walk outside today! She absolutely loved it and was sad she wasn't out there for long (I didn't want to push her). Once the stitches come out on Friday, she should be going for walks a lot more. = )
