I LOVE the Cork Factory. We wanted our wedding to be there but it was just as it was being built, so they weren't 100% sure about things, so we went elsewhere. I was born in Philly and grew up in Lancaster. Where did you go to high school?
I'd also love to hear about any Pennsylvania Vendors you have booked or used that you love!
Especially in the CENTRAL PA area! York/Lancaster/Harrisburg etc
Well, we're getting married in Phoenixville, so we didn't really book any vendors from Central PA. Sorry.
What do you need as far as vendors go?
Hey Steph! Yea, I was shocked to find The Cork Factory in Lancaster PA... is it pretty "hip" and "modern" for Lancaster! haha
Where did you end up booking your reception at?
I went to High School at Mccaskey. I moved my senior year though to work in NYC and just recently moved to Philadelphia.
The Cork Factory is awesome. We actually ending up booking our ceremony and reception at Columbia Station (Robert Ryan Catering) in Phoenixville.
AH! I went to Catholic High!
I like Phoenixville!!
I'm still looking for Photographers... I am really picky about pictures and I don't want to go above 2,500. I also want the rights to all my photos and negatives. There are only a few that offer that.
If anyone knows great affordable Photographers around Lancaster PA, pls share! lol
Have you checked out Willow Street Photography. They are based in Reading. I'm not sure of their pricing and their 'rules' but their photography is nice.
I love this thread. I was born & raised in Philadelphia, now live in Berks County... my FI born & raised in Lancaster. Awesome seeing wedding stuff in PA, and from place we know and love. UNfortunately we are NOT getting married in PA (FI wants a low key 2nd wedding), so we are Vegas Bound :)
I got married at the Omni Hotel in Olde City. The pics were all taken downtown and evantricity did my flowers.

@StephinPA - I will check out Willow Street Photography, hoping to find some Photographers that are located in Lancaster PA though.
@The FutureMrsE- VEGAS sounds like loads of fun! Lucky! Sometimes I feel like I'd give anything to just take off and get married far away.. instead of planning a massive family gathering lol
@Flamingred- Its so awesome to see you got married in my Neighborhood in Philadelphia. The pictures are beautiful!!!!
I live more northern central PA (think cows...) and it is a pain to find decent vendors. I wish we had somewhere like the Cork Factory around here! That's such a perfect balance between classy and rustic.
@April_Fools_Bride: I would look at Klose Photography. My brother used her for his senior pictures and they were amazing and rather affordable and I imagine her weddings are similar. I'm not sure what her rules are on rights to photographs though.
(I have a less opinion of who I went with for senior pictures but it was encouraged to go there as he was the offical photographer for Elizabethtown)
Hey there PA brides! My FI is from Lancaster County, so even though we currently live in Baltimore, we're having our wedding there on May 14, 2011! We're doing a tented reception at his parent's house in Ephrata.
My photog is from out of town, but on theknot boards I saw a lot of recommendations for Solas photography as very reasonably prices: http://solasphotography.com/#goto=wedding-pricing May be worth checking out- they're not in Lancaster but I don't think they're too far away.
We have all of our vendors lined up, so I'm happy to share who we're using if anyone is still looking.
@stephinPA: I am getting married in Phoenixvlle also (at The Phoenixville Foundry)
Did you pick a place for a rehearsal dinner yet? I honestly don't know anything other than Iron Hill and Molly's. Any recommendations?
@flamingred: I love your table numbers! Did you do them yourself or get them somewhere?
@Miss Horseshoe: My FI's family lives in Ephrata! It's a gorgeous place for an outside wedding!
@April_Fools_Bride: I went to a wedding this summer that was at Cork Factory! It is my absolute DREAM venue... but we are on such a tiny budget that we can't use it. :( But it's spectacular...
Just to give you a heads up though, several guests at that wedding I went to, weren't sure where the actual entrance was and got a little lost. Are you having them come in through the porch area and park in that parking lot? That's what most people did but some (umm... like FI and me haha... oops) were confused and went the whole way through the hotel from another parking lot. It all worked out, and we felt REALLY silly when we realized it, but just so you know. :)
I grew up just outside of Quakertown (309 - abt an hour north of Philly) and when my mom remarried, she rented out the Lakeside Inn at Lake Nockamixon. It was so extravagant! The grounds were beautiful to begin with, and the rooms and amenities were sleek and modern. They organized the shuttles and parking. The food was great and the service was excellent - they really bent over backward for anything my family needed (my fiance's grandmother passed away on the drive back up north, and they helped me re-arrange my flights and deal with the airline). My mom lives in Chalfont and used a bridal shop that was near some really good bakery across from a church parking lot (ha! wish I could remember!) but they were really good, too. We're going back there for Christmas to get her mother-of-the-bride outfit for my wedding.
@piglet_625: omg we just went to a wedding at the Foundry this past weekend - it is AMAZING! You are so lucky! And I'm not sure what the catering situation there is, but the food was INCREDIBLE. Mini cheesesteaks during happy hour? Fantastic!

Our wedding was in August 2009. We got married in one of the beautiful gardens at Harrisburg Area Community College, The reception afterwards was at the college's conference center and the pig roast held the next day was at the Hbg. Postal Employees' Picnic Grounds, just north of Harrisburg.
The Cork Factory is amazing, one of my best friends actually lives in those apartments! We knew we wanted to get married outside, so we decided to go with Drumore Estate. It is a gorgeous location and perfect for our rustic theme.
I am in Lancaster, PA and we are checking the Cork Hotel out on Sat to see if it suits us. I have my heart set on Felicita's gardens, I just don't know if I should have our guests commute the 1hr 25 mins to get there.
I have 2 friends in this area that are starting out professionally in photography http://www.melaniamphotography.com/ and the other one I will have to find the business card and let you know. Melania will be doing our engagement photos and our other friend will design all the invites, menus, programs etc PLUS do photos/videography on our wedding day for an extremely cheap price (its not b/c we know them price either) as soon as I get the info I will let you know.
A friend of mine who lives in Lancaster held her reception at the Barn at Overlook -- it was absolutely lovely. Fitting for a fairly casual event, which theirs was.
I live in Boston now, but I grew up just outside Philly and that's where we are getting married. Our venue is The Old Mill in Rose Valley. Our photog is Philadelphia-based J Shurak Photography.
A photographer in the vicinity of Lancaster that I would recommend checking out is Todd G Photography. (click on titles for photos) He is based in Dauphin. I came across him in my search and I honestly wish I could have hired him AND the photographer I ended up choosing. He is a stay-at-home dad and a very nice guy, his work is beautiful, and he's really affordable.
Here's the website to the photographer/videographer I really think you won't go wrong-- they offer so much for so little
@bluespurrs: I think it's so awesome you got married at HACC hehe
Were from Camp Hill area which is a hop skip and jump away from Harrisburg but were actually driving an hour down to Chambersburg to get married in the Capitol Theater... I was looking for anyone else whose been married there I just want to see some pictures soooo bad! lol
I'm getting married in lancaster, PA on Sept 4th 2011!
We booked the Mulberry Art Studios! Love it.
Photographer we went with Lets be Candid.
He is great & affordable! Cake is by Kima confections - delicious and afforrdable too!
Love to know who everyone went with for videography & officants!

Thought I'd try and reach out to all the Pennsylvania Brides out there!
Myself
<-- 27 Year-old Bride to be. I live in Philadelphia (Old City) but holding my wedding in Lancaster Pennsylvania (CENTRAL PA) where my family lives. My wedding date is April Fools Day 2011 so of course I'm trying to plan some fun and funny tricks and events during the reception.
Holding my wedding at the new Cork Factory Hotel in Lancaster City! I'm super excited. Aiming for a Rustic/Chic type of wedding. Focusing more on decor and design rather than flowers.
I'd love to hear from more PA Brides! Share your weddings and any photos!
