I would suggest Garden roses… they actually get confused for peonies and I think they might be cheaper… thats what I did!

I wanted peonies but may end up going with garden roses…they look very similar!

My florist ordered all my flowers and the peonies were gorgeous. I assume she’s ordering from someone she has confidence in.

I had garden roses at my wedding too but I could tell the difference and preferred the peonies.

Go for the garden roses. They look so similar…spend the money you save elsewhere.

I think florists order flowers all the time.  If that’s your concern, then don’t worry about it.  Just ask her if she’s ordered peonies from this place before and if they come in looking weird/bad, if you can get a replacement flower instead and pike roses (or garden roses or whatever) as your plan B?

I agree with the pps who suggested garden roses, both for cost and also because peonies have an awfully strong scent that can irritate people with allergies.

Love peonies but they are pricey!

I love the way peonies and roses look together, you can definitely mix them and I think it looks really interesting when you do.

I wanted peonies so badly but they were out of season for my wedding 🙁  If I could have had a choice of mixed roses and peonies I would have had that, but in the end I had roses for the BM and I had a mix of white hydrangea’s, Roses and Lizzy’s but the florist made sure to put in full roses rather than the tight little ones.

I think you should do a mix and agree that florists do know what they are doing.  They know it is for your wedding and I am hoping that if they were not confident they would be good quality they wouldn’t offer it to you!
