Don't know about prices, but I think that's beautiful, and peonies smell amazing! They're one of my favorite flowers and I'll definitely be incorporating them into my bouquet.
my fiance's sister used peonies for her wedding and they were gorgeous!!! (this was before fiance and i got together so i wasn't at the wedding but I'm scouring the internet for pics of her boquets for you!!!) He colors were fuschia, ivory with some greens it them. GORGEOUS
I love peonies, and I think they look gorgeous in a bouquet! Unfortunately, they are pretty expensive, and I believe that they are a late spring-early summer flower, so obtaining them for your mid-summer wedding may be difficult or increase the cost since they'll be out of season.
If having a full peony bouquet is too expensive, maybe you could try a bouquet with some peonies and some other flowers like cabbage roses that look similar? I would ask your florist for suggestions and pricing options.
Good Luck!
Peonies are some of my favorite flowers (in full disclosure I love pretty much every flower). One word of caution though: when peonies start to wilt and drop their petals, they drop them, like all of them, almost instantly. I'm sure a professional florist would make sure that they are fresh enough to not have that happen, but I did want to mention it in case you were hoping to dry the bouquet or something.
I am having the bm's bouquets made out of pink peonies. I think they are a gorgeous flower and I love how they look.
I'm using peonies for my bouquets and centerpieces. I'm getting married a week before you and was informed that they are not in season in the US. So in order for us to get real peonies they would have to be flowen in from Holland and would be $10 a flower. The florist told us that the flowers would begin to lose their petals before our reception even started. I didn't like the idea of spending $1200 on flowers that wouldn't even last the day so I ordered mine from Wedideas for about 1/2 the price.
Girls, one thing i know about peonies they are early summer flowers. It is very, and i mean VERY expensive to get them at any other time of the year! I hope this helps!
I am doing fuscia peonies...if for some reason they are expensive, you can always use garden roses...many won't notice the difference and both smell great. My florist said if there is som type of disaster where she can't get peonies, that the large garden roses look almost identical and smell just as nice. The garden roses are also less expensive, so that's always another option.
Love peonies - so pretty :) If you do decide on peonies for the bouquets, you'll probably want to choose something else for the bouts. The heads of peonies are pretty large.
When are they in season? I know you girls said late spring early summer, but what months? Like Late April-early june?
I am considering a late April Wedding, is that too early for peonies?
I love peonies! I had peonies as my bouquet and my bridesmaids' bouquets. Our wedding was in July and that was just about the end of the season.
If I had an unlimited budget, I would TOTALLY use peonies for my bouquet/BM bouquets, but because of the price and the fact that they do wilt/lose petals prteey quickly, I'm opting for large roses. They are much more affordable and they are still gorgeous! I figure I want to spend more on stuff like the photographer/videographer because these will last forever while opting for less expensive choices for flowers and invites, since you will never really be able to use these after the wedding.
peonies are gorgeous but they're very fragile and expensive out of season.
I knew I wanted some in my bouquets and in my mid-june wedding I paid roughly $25 for 10 stems. (I DIYed flowers)
Because of their fragility and size, i definitely wouldn't recommend them for bouts though. i would recommend a garden rose or ranunculus for the bouts.
I LOVE peonies!!! The first flowers my FI bought for me were peonies. I wanted to have them in my wedding but they are too expensive and then I found garden roses. They arent exactly the same, but they have that same soft look. I will be using them for my NOV wedding!!!!
Love peonies, but yes they are expensive, even when in season since they have to go through so many of them to find the right closure of the bloom (I read this somewhere). So, since I love them so much, but am on a budget, I aded them to my bouquet only, it's my flower splurge since I couldn't be as wishful with the reast of the flowers, bouquets, and center pieces.
I love peonies! I think they're romantic and look gorgeous all full and bundled up! I'd have them in my boquet ... but I'm married in Oct.
I'm doing peony bouquets like this one:

I'm paying $150 for my bouquet and $75 for my BMs, who will have smaller versions of this. My wedding is at the end of April.
LOOOOOVVVVVVEEEEEEEE! peonies. Unfortunately my florist says that she will not waste my money with peonies because the quality in August is very poor. She reccomended garden roses like these
So, i had NO idea that peonies would fall apart like that. Our budget is definitely not huge and i don't want to waste it on flowers that wont even make it to the reception...even though they are BEAUTIFUL! I cant see spending that much money on flowers that wont last. You ladies have been sooooooooo helpful!!!!
@PortlandBride: Where Did you find this Picture? I would really like to see the blog it came from:)
