I live in a town with the worst vehicle break in rate in canada. I can very much relate first night I lived here (moved from about an hor away) I got broken into, also an additional 3 times:( didnt steal much just made a big mess. Now thank goodness we have a garage and park in there but for awhile I was getting pretty pissed off

I want a shock alarm to be invented. If someone tries to break into my car, they get the caca shocked out of them!

My Window was broken one night at SO’s and then about a month later someone tried to steal his mom’s car out of the driveway.

In March i signed up at the gym so just brought in my wallet to fill out the forms, came out and my window was smashed, purse gone… so infuriating!!

pixelninja: love this idea!! haha

I would definitely set up a security camera and point it at your vehicle. That way, when it happens, you can see the person who did it.

Not theft, but my car was keyed over the weekend (well, I noticed over the weekend at least). Sucks that people have so little respect for others.

The people who steal from cars here are sick. They are most often drug addicted  or dual diagnosis (addiction and mental health diagnosis). They aren’t trying to steal cars, just get their hands on anything that can be sold for money to buy drugs.

After 3 breakins, I just stopped locking my doors, I also leave the windows rolled halfway down so they dont have to break the window to get in and I don’t have to pay the deductible for a new window.

DaniDev143:  They stole your stuff and only had to write an apology note? It sucks that people steal from hardworking individuals. I would lose it if someone broke into my car or stole anything of mine and I found them. I’ve worked very hard for every item that I own and value them very highly.

The FIRST night I moved into my fiance’s house my car was broken into. I had my vehicle out of the garage because all my boxes were taking my spot, plus I didn’t have a job yet so I told FI not to worry, it’s cold and you go in very early I’ll park out side.

Someone broke in. riffled through all the boxes that were still in my car and my glove box. Stuff was everywhere. I felt terrible. I had moved from a not so nice area to a very nice area. and NOW my car get broken into. Luckily all they took were a couple minor things. Couple cups and a vase. Nothing of value, sentimental or otherwise.

Rant away!! I got hugely upset last week – my gran got burgled. She went out to the flower market and when she got home all the silverware etc was gone. Worst thing about it? The person was someone who had a key because they locked the door behind them. My grandpa (who actually passed away on Saturday) has had carers, and it was most likely one of them. So someone who knew my gran was now alone as grandpa was in a home, and knew the circumstances took advantage of an old lady living on her own after they had only been given access her house to help her!! Some people are so sick it’s unreal.

Not about cars, but this is one story that has always stuck with me. One of the families that I knew growing up, had their mom pass away. They decided to plant a memorial rose bush in their front yard to remember/honour their mom. Well, someone dug it up and stole it!

Some people will steal anything!
